Adobe Unveils Creative Suite 5 Product Family

Breakthrough Interactive Design Tools Maximize Impact of Creative Content and Digital Marketing Campaigns Across Media and Devices

SYDNEY, Australia, — April 12, 2010 Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced Adobe® Creative Suite® 5, a breakthrough release of the industry-leading design and development software for virtually every creative workflow. Focusing on interactivity, performance and maximising the impact of digital content and marketing campaigns across media and devices, the Creative Suite 5 product line brings exciting full version upgrades of flagship creative tools while delivering significant workflow enhancements to designers and developers. Featuring integration with online content and digital marketing measurement and optimisation capabilities for the first time, Creative Suite 5 products include access to signature Omniture technologies, to capture, store and analyse information generated by Web sites and other sources. Additionally, a brand new component, Adobe Flash® Catalyst™, joins the Creative Suite, ushering in the ability to design interactive content without writing code and improve the collaborative process between designer and developer.

The Adobe CS5 product family also enables the creation of content and applications for the much anticipated releases of Flash Player 10.1 and Adobe AIR® 2, which are optimised for high performance on mobile screens and designed to take advantage of native device capabilities for a richer, more immersive user experience.

The new lineup is headlined by Adobe Creative Suite 5 Master Collection, which includes, in a single package, all of Adobe’s renowned Creative Suite tools, such as Photoshop® CS5 (see separate release), Illustrator® CS5, InDesign® CS5 (see separate release), Flash Catalyst CS5 (see separate release), Flash Professional CS5, Dreamweaver® CS5, Adobe® Premiere® Pro CS5 (see separate release) and After Effects® CS5. These tools are also available separately or in one of the five Creative Suite editions. The complete Creative Suite 5 lineup includes Creative Suite 5 Master Collection, Creative Suite 5 Design Premium, Creative Suite 5 Web Premium, Creative Suite 5 Production Premium and Creative Suite 5 Design Standard, as well as 15 point products, associated technologies and integration with new Adobe CS Live Services (CS Live Services are complimentary for a limited time).*

“While Creative Suite 5 continues Adobe’s storied history of delivering astonishing new creative features, this release first and foremost addresses the challenges facing publishers and creatives worldwide—how to build profitable businesses around digital content,” said Shantanu Narayen, president and chief executive officer at Adobe. “By coupling sophisticated online business analytics with dazzling creative tools, we’re ensuring that publishers, designers and marketers can create, deliver and optimise beautiful, high-impact digital experiences across media and devices.”

“We’re a region renowned for our innovation and design, with the Pacific region home to very active and world-renowned developer and creative communities, especially in Australia and New Zealand. The launch of CS5 will be significant for our markets. The attention it’s already received ahead of launch has been astounding and we expect this to continue,” commented Calum Russell, Marketing Manager for Adobe, Pacific. “We’re hosting a series of roadshows at the end of April and throughout May in Australia and New Zealand to reach out to our developer and creative communities in 9 cities across Australia and New Zealand, and we’re anticipating a strong turnout for those events.”

John Treloar, Education Director for Adobe in Asia Pacific knows firsthand how powerful creative products can be in an education environment following the NSW Department of Education and Training’s recent laptop initiative for public schools and TAFE: “The launch of Creative Suite 5 provides many opportunities for schools and colleges in the Pacific region. For students, it teaches them to think outside of the box of the traditional design or creative role and consider what their future in a creative based economy will look like when they enter it professionally.

“CS5 completes the creative workflow and blurs the borders between publisher and developer, producer and editor, photographer and designer. For educators, the new features of CS5 enable learning in an engaging and interactive way where a student can easily explore their imagination, driving their hunger for creativity.”

From a publishing perspective, CS5 is an essential set of tools which is particularly relevant for the Pacific regions’ burgeoning media landscape as Fraser Crozier, Business Liaison Manager – Group I.T. Applications for Pacific Magazines puts it: “There are several obvious feature additions to InDesign CS5 that stand out, making this release an ROI friendly investment.”

“The list of enhancements and new features is so long that it would be faster to just go out and buy it, start using it, talk to your peers and rejoice in the knowledge that Adobe has delivered a killer punch. By the time you finished reading the publicity you could have bought it, installed it and created your first CS5 masterpiece. As for the rest of the suite, wow…64bit Photoshop for Mac, finally…. And then there is a whole bunch of feature enhancements in all the main products. Think big – and you might just get close to the real impact that these will have.”

Design Without Boundaries

More than 250 new features have been integrated into the Adobe Creative Suite 5 Master Collection. InDesign CS5 is powering the transition to digital publishing with new interactive documents and enhanced electronic reader device support. Image creation and editing get a boost in Photoshop CS5 with Refine Edge, which offers better edge detecting technology and masking results in less time. Photoshop CS5 also includes the ability to remove an image element and immediately replace the missing pixels with Content-Aware Fill. New stroke options allow Adobe Illustrator CS5 users to create strokes of variable widths and precisely adjust the width at any point along the stroke.

Work Faster with Greater Precision
Engineering breakthroughs throughout Adobe Creative Suite 5 Master Collection work together to dramatically improve performance. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects are now native 64-bit applications on both Mac and Windows®, allowing users to work more fluidly when working on high-resolution projects. The highly anticipated NVIDIA® GPU-accelerated Adobe Mercury Playback Engine allows Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 users to open projects faster, refine effects-rich HD sequences in real time and play back complex projects without rendering. The revolutionary time-saving Roto Brush tool in After Effects helps users isolate moving foreground elements in a fraction of the normal time. In addition, Dreamweaver CS5 now supports popular content management systems Drupal, Joomla! and WordPress, allowing designers to get accurate views of dynamic Web content from within the product.

Accelerate and Optimize Creative Workflows
Adobe Creative Suite 5 products integrate with new Adobe CS Live*, a set of five online services that accelerate key aspects of the creative workflow and enable designers to focus on creating their best work. CS Live online services are complimentary for a limited time and currently include Adobe BrowserLab, Adobe CS Review, Acrobat.com, Adobe Story and SiteCatalyst® NetAverages™ from Omniture. Adobe CS Review enables online design reviews directly from Creative Suite 5 applications, while Adobe BrowserLab is an indispensable tool for testing Web site content across different browsers and operating systems. NetAverages provides Web usage data that helps reduce the guesswork early in the creative process when designing for Web and mobile. Adobe Story is a collaborative scriptwriting tool that improves production and post-production workflows in CS5 Production Premium. Access to Acrobat.com services, such as Adobe ConnectNow Web conferencing, is also included to enhance discussion and information exchange with colleagues and clients around the globe.

Create and Deliver to More Mobile Platforms
Using Flash Professional CS5, designers and developers can create, test and deliver Web content across a wide range of mobile platforms and devices such as smartphones, tablets, netbooks, smartbooks and other consumer electronics. Users can look forward to deploying content in the browser with Flash Player 10.1 and as a standalone application with AIR 2 when those planned products become available. In addition, users can now build AIR applications using the new Packager for iPhone tool preview, a component of Flash Professional CS5, which can be deployed on the iPhone and iPad (subject to Apple’s requirements and approval) with future device support planned for Android, BlackBerry and Palm webOS.

Facebook and MySpace users receive unwanted attention from latest Trojans

Latest email scams continue unabated to deliver dropped malware

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – April 12, 2010 – Facebook and MySpace users are again the targets of spam waves that have been dishing out more than 500 infected email messages at 10 minute intervals. BitDefender has today found two campaigns targeting Facebook and MySpace account holders in the form of emails notifying them that passwords to their accounts have been changed due to security reasons. The recipients of this fake notification are prompted to open an attached .zip file in order to find out their new allocated password.

The behavior of Trojan.Oficla.J and Trojan.Fakealert.BZZis are worryingly similar to that of Trojan.Dropper.Oficla.G, which plagued Facebook users last month. The new threats contains malicious or potentially unwanted software which it ‘drops’ and installs on the system.

Upon installation, the latest trojans automatically minimises any open browser windows to display a warning message. This message notifies the user about several alleged computer infections and points out the necessity of installing a security solution.

By clicking either the ‘OK’ or ‘Cancel’ buttons of the various pop-up windows appearing on the screen, the user activates a false antivirus scanning process that detects oodles of malware in the system, whilst other fake pop-up windows attempt to trick the user into downloading the malicious program posing as the antivirus.

Once installed, it modifies and damages the content of several system files, whilst delivering numerous pop-ups on sham system problems and fake infections.

In order to stay safe, BitDefender recommends you never open attachments coming from unknown contacts. They also suggest people install and update a complete antimalware software solution.

ASUS First to Deliver New IEEE Standard on Motherboards

ASUS First to Deliver New IEEE Standard on Motherboards

Company Integrates Industrial Energy Efficient Ethernet Standard in Motherboards for Significant Power Savings

Sydney, Australia, 12 April 2010 – ASUS became the first motherboard maker to announce the introduction of the IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) standard on a number of new motherboards. This helps increase energy savings up to 81.3% by reducing power delivery during periods of low network activity.

Industry Leading Eco-Friendly Motherboard Brand

Dedicated to developing eco-friendly products, ASUS continuously pioneers the introduction of green technology on motherboards. This has brought about the world’s first motherboard power savings engine, the EPU (Energy Processing Unit), the industry’s first Energy Star 5.0-compliant motherboard and the addition of ASUS motherboards to the Climate Savers Computing Initiative. Taking eco-friendly action to a new level, ASUS motherboards are now the first in the world ready for the new Energy Efficient Ethernet standard.

Lower Power Idle Mode

The new IEEE 802.3az EEE standard is regulated by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), one of the leading standard-issuing organisations in the industry. The EEE standard was developed for enhanced efficiency, reducing the power that drives data throughput during periods of low Internet usage or minimal Ethernet activity on both sides of a link. This helps lower total system energy consumption. Even though the Internet is utterly vital for communications, activity related to its usage usually reverts to a lowered state after data finishes downloading. Responding to dynamic Internet usage, the new standard detects activity levels and lowers power consumption in idle phases, increasing supply during periods of normal transmission—thus optimising efficiency while saving power.

Significant Savings from Lower Power Requirements

By incorporating the IEEE 802.3az EEE standard, ASUS motherboards consume up to 81.3% less energy. Operating a Gigabit Ethernet LAN now requires only 89.1mW of power instead of 476.8mW during periods of lower Ethernet utilisation. With increasing emphasis by governments on energy efficiency, the new standard helps companies and users align with new regulations while consuming energy more responsibly for the good of all.

Introducing: New Motherboard Series with Enhanced Efficiency

ASUS has recently incorporated IEEE 802.3az EEE* into the new ASUS M4A89 Series motherboards. Aiming to provide more environmentally-sustainable operations, the company is getting ready to introduce an entire, completely new line of motherboards enhanced with the new standard. Please watch for announcements as the range of offerings expands.

*IEEE 802.3az EEE-compliant models include: M4A89 / M4A88 / M4A87TD series motherboards

Robert De Niro is a disheartened father on a journey across America to reconnect with his family in Everybody’s Fine, released to DVD 2 June 2010

EVERYBODY’s FINE, starring ROBERT DE NIRO is a heartfelt account of the trials and tribulations of what it is to be a family; released to DVD 2 June 2010.

Alone after the death of his wife and retired from his manual job in a wire factory, Frank Goode, played by the acclaimed ROBERT DE NIRO, comes to the realisation that he is not in any way connected to his children. But as they one-by-one cancel a weekend get-together at his home, he recognises that the problem is much deeper than just losing touch.

Although advised by his doctor not to take any long trips due to his poor health, Frank decides that he will set out across America in a pilgrimage to surprise all of his children and find out for himself who they have become.

Frank’s first stop is New York City to spend time with his artist son David. But after sitting on his doorstep for some time the closest he gets to locating him is sighting his art work is on display at a nearby gallery.

Next is Amy, played by KATE BECKINSALE, a successful advertising consultant in Chicago. Almost immediately on Frank’s arrival, it is clear that tensions are high between Amy’s husband and son. Although successful, an embarrassing coldness has entered her life making it uncomfortable to have her father there.

Frank soon moves on to Denver to visit his musician son Robert, played by SAM ROCKWELL. Robert had claimed to be a conductor, but Frank soon discovers that he is in fact the percussionist. Robert quickly states that Frank’s arrival is at a bad time, and with a great deal of remorse, Frank catches a bus to Los Vegas to be with his youngest Rosie, played by DREW BARRYMORE.

In Vegas it is a similar story. Frank discovers with a heavy heart that Rosie has been hiding a good deal about her life from him. Although she agrees, like her siblings to be more open and honest with her dad, all remain cautious about revealing the truth, particularly their concern for David.

With the fate of David still weighing heavily on his mind, Frank is struck down with a heart attack as he heads home, and the family has to find the strength to be honest with themselves as well as their dad before his journey is over.

Based on the 1990 Italian film Stanno Tutti Bene, EVERYBODY’S FINE is written and directed by KIRK JONES, best known for writing and directing the English comedy hit Waking Ned Devine.
