Academy Award-winning director and master storyteller James Cameron takes moviegoers back to his greatest inspiration – the wreck of the legendary Titanic. Titanic 3D: Ghosts of the Abyss returns to the world’s third largest screen at IMAX Melbourne Museum on 13 May 2010, to coincide with the new Melbourne Museum blockbuster exhibition Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition, opening on 14 May 2010.
Titanic 3D: Ghosts of the Abyss provided Cameron with a unique training ground to learn the sophisticated 3D filming techniques that he later applied to the highest grossing motion picture of all time, Avatar.
Cameron, along with his friend Bill Paxton and a team of the world’s foremost historic and marine experts, travelled on an unscripted adventure to the site in the North Atlantic where over 1,500 people lost their lives. Using state-of-the-art technology developed expressly for this expedition, Cameron and his crew are able to explore both inside and outside the wreck of the Titanic.
Thanks to the advanced 3D photography, moviegoers will experience the ship as if they are part of the dive team, travelling deep below the surface of the ocean and far inside the ghostly shipwreck.
Made especially for IMAX 3D theatres, Cameron and his team reveal the ship as it has not been seen since the sinking almost one hundred years ago, and explore why the legendary vessel continues to intrigue and fascinate the public.

THE 98TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SINKING OF THE TITANIC
On April 15, 1912 RMS Titanic sank to the bottom of the Atlantic, taking with her more than 1500 souls from the 2223 on board. 98 years on Australians have their first opportunity to experience the tragedy and romance of the famous ship firsthand in the form of Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition at Melbourne Museum from May 14 to October 17, 2010.
Seen by more than 22 million worldwide to date, this will be the exhibition’s first ever visit to Australia, with tickets on sale from 9am this Thursday 15 April.
The exhibition will feature more than 280 original artefacts salvaged from the Titanic’s debris field at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean as well as impressive to scale reproductions of parts of the ship, including the famous Grand Staircase, First Class and Third Class Cabins, the Boiler Room and a Third Class Hallway. An ice wall will allow visitors the chance to experience the freezing below zero temperatures that led to the deaths of so many.
As they enter the exhibition, each visitor is presented with a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger, drawing them back in time to 1912 and the ship’s fateful maiden voyage. Then begins a journey through the life of the Titanic, from construction to life on board, to its ill-fated voyage, tragic sinking and the amazing efforts to recover artefacts. Along the way visitors will marvel at the full-size recreation of the ship’s Grand Staircase, and learn countless stories of heroism and humanity.
Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition will open at Melbourne Museum on May 14. Tickets on sale Thursday 15 April.

Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 to Feature The Ryder Cup and Support PlayStation®3 Motion Controller
13 April 2010, Australia – Electronic Arts Inc. have announced that one of the most prestigious tournaments in golf, The Ryder Cup, will be featured in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 11.
In addition, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 will support Sony’s new PlayStation®3 Motion Controller to give gamers an authentic interactive swing experience.
The game will be available on 1 July on the Wii™, Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3 and iPhone™ platforms. Gamers will select a team and square off to try and bring home The Ryder Cup for their squad on all console platforms.
The Ryder Cup is one of the last great sporting events to be founded in prestige rather than prize money. Choose from the U.S. or European squad and participate in the various competition formats: foursomes, where players hit alternate shots, fourballs and singles, which traditionally bring the biennial event to a close with players going head to head.
When playing The Ryder Cup mode offline, gamers will have the option to swap matches, thus giving you the ultimate control over the outcomes of other matches.
