Each year the Disney Vault opens to release exclusive Walt Disney Classics on DVD. The prestigious nature of these Classics means that they are available for a very limited time only. In fact it could be up to seven years before you see these Disney Classics on DVD again.
Walt Disney was the original custodian of the Disney Vault, and began the Vault practice by re-releasing Disney classics theatrically every seven years. Walt’s time-honoured tradition continues today, as animated titles which once entered the Vault in VHS format now emerge in re-mastered and technically superior DVD and Blu-ray™ technology.
From 30 June 2010, three re-mastered Disney DVD Classics, Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmatians and 101 Dalmatians II: Patch’s London Adventure, are being placed back into the Disney Vault for further tender loving care.
Featuring pristine restoration, creative special features and hours of entertainment for kids, these magical titles have been given the royal treatment and are an absolute must for any collector or Disney fan.
Take a stroll down memory lane and catch up with your favourite Disney characters by securing your own little piece of Disney history before they disappear. Be sure to also look out for the next Walt Disney Classic to be released from the Vault – Beauty and the Beast – which will be released from the Disney Vault on DVD and Blu-ray this October.

Sleeping Beauty (1959)
A family favourite, Sleeping Beauty tells the tale of Princess Aurora who is blessed with the gifts of beauty and song by the good fairies of the kingdom – Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. Betrothed at birth to Prince Phillip, the son of a neighbouring king, Princess Aurora is wickedly cursed to die by the prick of a spinning wheel spindle before her 16th birthday by the evil fairy, Maleficent.
Determined to prevent this catastrophe, the good fairies hide the princess in a secluded cottage in the forest where Aurora blossoms into a lovely young woman unaware of her real name and birthright. Princess Aurora, now called Briar Rose, soon meets and falls in love with Prince Phillip who she believes is a peasant boy but in actual fact is her betrothed.
Eventually, Aurora is stricken by Maleficent’s terrible curse and all seems lost but for one glimmer of hope – only true love’s kiss can wake this sleeping beauty from an eternal slumber.

101 Dalmatians II: Patch’s London Adventure (2003)

The feistiest pup, Patch, feels lost in a sea of spots and longs to be a one-of-a-kind wonder dog like his TV hero, Thunderbolt. Left behind in the commotion Patch hears about a chance to appear on the show while it’s filming in London. Patch soon meets his hero and the adventure begins.
Cruella is back and this time more obsessed with Dalmatians than ever. At first, she is able to calm her frenzy through an affiliation with a spot-fixated German artist named Lars. Cruella soon discovers that Lars, despite his best efforts, is unable to recreate the look she desires. In order to inspire him, she begins hunting for the Dalmatian puppies, but is angry to find Anita’s house empty. However, using a newspaper picture of Patch at the audition, she reads their new address off his collar.
Follow the adventures of Patch and Thunderbolt and watch as their teamwork and friendship save the day.
The special edition DVD includes more fun than ever with all new Patch’s Twilight Adventure game, music videos, a behind-the-scenes “Dog-umentary” and more!

COMING OUT OF THE VAULT –
Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Winner of two Academy Awards (Music- Original Score and Music- Original Song 1992) and nominated for four others, Walt Disney Pictures’ magical animated classic Beauty and the Beast is set to return to homes and hearts this November when it is released from the Disney Vault.
Beauty and the Beast captures the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright and beautiful young woman who is taken prisoner by a hideous beast in his castle. Despite her precarious situation, Belle befriends the castle’s enchanted staff – a teapot, a candelabra and a mantel clock.
Prince Adam was cursed to become a beast form by Enchantress who saw no love in his arrogant heart for others. The one way he could break the spell was to learn to love another and earn her love in return before the last petal from his enchanted rose fell, set to bloom until his 21st birthday.
With the help of her enchanted staff friends, Belle learns to see beneath the Beast’s exterior to discover the heart and soul of a prince and break a spell placed on him years earlier
