‘GOD EATER’ FOR PSP CONFIRMED FOR EUROPEAN RELEASE

– NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe to Launch High-Octane Survival Action Title, Coming in 2011 –

BARCELONA, SPAIN – 12 May 2010 – NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe S.A.S. chose today’s LEVEL UP event in Barcelona to confirm the forthcoming European and PAL region release of anticipated survival action title God Eater, coming to Australian shores in 2011 exclusively for  PSP® (PlayStation®Portable).

God Eater re-imagines the post-apocalyptic world with an original and dramatic story of human survival against overwhelming odds. The earth has been trashed by unpleasant mutant beasts known as the Aragami and man’s only hope against them is the God Arc weapons and the God Eaters who wield them.  Players will create their own hero and do battle with over 37 different enemies, picking up items along the way to customize their weapons, guns, bullets and shields, boosting their strength and stamina in the massive scale fights.

The furious pace of the gameplay will send players hurtling through over 125 missions, demanding quick thinking for tactical shifts between weapons to slash, shoot and devour some seriously imposing enemies. Bullets can be customised to alter their strength, patterns and elemental type for wildly effective super attacks.

The original Prey Attack adds a new strategic level as players transform their God Arc to Burst Mode, boosting their stats and special bullets to launch potent attacks. Players can hunt with AI controlled party members or join hunting parties with up to four players via ad hoc connection, or connect the PSP to a PlayStation®3 and play online using adhocParty in cooperative mode.

If you’ve ever wondered what a god tastes like, you won’t have to wait long to find out.

ROBERT DE NIRO & KIRK JONES INTERVIEW – Everybody’s fine is released to DVD 2 June 2010

INTERVIEWER
Are you so at home being a father?

ROBERT DE NIRO
Well, I’m not, I’m not at home. I think, you know, it’s tough. Eh, there are good moments and not so good moments. Anybody who has children knows that. So, it’s just life. I, I needless to say, but as long as you have children, there’s going to be a problem. You know, that’s something.

INTERVIEWER
Uh, speaking to, I mean, preaching to the choir because I’m, I’m a mother, too, and I have a thirty year-old…

ROBERT DE NIRO
Mm-hm.

INTERVIEWER
…and he is a handful.

ROBERT DE NIRO
Mm.

INTERVIEWER
How many do you have?

ROBERT DE NIRO
I have five and two grandkids.

INTERVIEWER
You have to give me a lesson.

ROBERT DE NIRO
Yeah. I, I don’t, I don’t know if I can, but I–

KIRK JONES (overlapping)
(chuckles)

INTERVIEWER
So, um, being a father, being a parent, eh, is just as much joy as, as it is a pain. Uh, what were the highlights for you as a parent and what were the down points that you really needed to resolve?

ROBERT DE NIRO
Oh. There’s so many. But, you know, I just got my twins’ report cards yesterday and I read them and they’re pretty, pretty…I’m very impressed, and had a meeting with their teachers. So, I was, that was a good moment. (chuckles)

KIRK JONES (overlapping)
That’s good. (chuckles)

INTERVIEWER
Mine faked my signature.

ROBERT DE NIRO
Oh, really? Okay. Well, that’s– (chuckles)

INTERVIEWER
And the principal called me and said…

ROBERT DE NIRO
Oh, boy.

INTERVIEWER
…”You know, uh, Mrs. [name], you always, uh, sign your name in yellow marker and print.”

ROBERT DE NIRO
Oh.

KIRK JONES
Crayon.

ROBERT DE NIRO
Yeah. Yeah.

INTERVIEWER
And what were the down moments? When you really had to go deep in you and just find something that–?

ROBERT DE NIRO
Well, you know, that, uh, even the ones that I would talk about, you know, eh, when the kids are not behaving or doing what you expect of them or what you’d hope that they’d want to do because you know in the long run for them, it’ll, it’ll, they’ll be better off, uh, whatever that is. Having, eh, having some, knowing that they, uh, i-if they know what they want to do in their lives, it helps. The way you un-, I understand it, they don’t know. Uh, you can’t, um, you can’t, um, I can’t force the kids to be anything other than what they want to be.

INTERVIEWER
Nobody can.

ROBERT DE NIRO (overlapping)
I like them to do…so, I’m, I’m pretty easy about that. I’d rather negotiate with them about if you want this; then give me that. Let’s– as opposed to being, um, punishing and stuff like that.

INTERVIEWER
Um, on the other hand, you know, I think, many, many years ago, let’s say a few decades ago, the family was more together.

ROBERT DE NIRO
Mm.

KIRK JONES
Mm.

INTERVIEWER
And I think the world goes, uh, it’s not the right way for families because we, we’re driven apart.

ROBERT DE NIRO
Yeah.

INTERVIEWER
We have too m-, too, too many things to do and we just don’t have the time to dedicate to our kids and to this relationship. What do you do about that?

ROBERT DE NIRO
Uh, I, I don’t know. Kirk might have something to say about that.

KIRK JONES
I think it’s, I think it’s a really good point. I, I think not so long ago, maybe thirty, forty years ago, I think communities were much stronger and that people tended to not move away so quickly or, or, you know, but now, as soon as kids hit teenage years, their first thought is to escape the area in which they grew up and work in another country or work halfway across the country. Um, and I think it’s, I, I think all that’s good about living in a community, um, is perhaps being lost in, in the modern world. You know, I s-, I, when I go back to Italy now I still see that there are, um, there is, uh, there are smaller communities and there are, uh, communities which, eh, which are, um, still surviving, and I think it’s a much healthier, um, environment to grow up in and, you know, and to stay in with the support of a community, rather than everyone just kind of heading off on their own.

INTERVIEWER
Uh, it’s very true. My son told me, um, when he was what, uh, twenty-three, he said, “I want two things. Number one: I don’t want, uh, to be what you me to be, and I want to move away from you as far as I can…

KIRK JONES
Mm.

INTERVIEWER
…in a different zip code possibly,” but there is still love.

ROBERT DE NIRO (overlapping)
(chuckles)

KIRK JONES
Yeah.

INTERVIEWER
So, how do you keep the love there when there is physical distance still?

ROBERT DE NIRO
That’s a good question. I liked my kids to be all around. I don’t like them to be off here and there unless they really have a, a reason or a job that pulls them there. Uh, I, I, I think the Italian thing is really good because the communities stay together and other, there are other countries and other cultures that have this, obviously. They stay together. You know, the whole family lives in different apartments in a ho-, in a building or something, that’s all nice stuff if you can do it. Uh, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

About BioShock 2

BioShock 2’s multiplayer modes provide fans with an engrossing prequel experience that expands upon the fiction of Rapture’s origins. Set during the year before Rapture’s descent into chaos, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions, a key provider of Plasmids and Tonics in the underwater city that was first explored in BioShock. Players will enter into areas from the original title as they struggle to gain superiority and fight for survival in franticly paced battles.

The single player mode serves as a sequel to the original game and provides fans with an unsettling storyline, dazzling visual design and the evolution of the genetically enhanced shooter gameplay. Set almost a decade after a grueling civil war consumed the once magnificent city of Rapture, evil reverberates through the halls and a wickedness once thought gone forever returns along the Atlantic seaboard. An unspeakable series of kidnappings from local seaside communities by an unseen monster leads to the repopulation of Little Sisters in Rapture’s failed utopia under the ocean. Players must step into the boots of one of gaming’s most iconic characters, the Big Daddy, as they traverse through the fallen city, fending off attacks from an army of genetically modified Splicers, while searching for escape and the key to their survival.

BioShock 2 is currently available for Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Games for Windows-LIVE and is rated MA 15+ by the Australian Classification Board. Press Release | MADMAN presents ‘IN THE LOOP’

12 MAY 2010

Hero Image

MEDIA RELEASE

YOU’VE GOT TO SPIN IT, TO WIN IT…

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MELBOURNE, Wednesday, 12 May 2010: As the UK bids ta ta to Grumpy Gordon and ushers in a new political era, whilst basking in the still-warm glow of the Cameron-Clegg “bro-mance”, now is the time to reminisce about the good old days…

A time when new Labour was cool, Tony Blair was the average housewife’s totty of choice and Britain’s Government was but a stage, ruthlessly directed by the great spin doctor / puppet master Alistair Campbell. A man as famed for his volcanic temper as his ability to spin the UK MP’s out of just about anything, (Iraq and the WMD scandal anyone?). No pensioner-bashing prime-ministerial gaffes on his watch.

With Campbell-esque timing, Madman brings you IN THE LOOP on DVD and Blu-Ray ($34.95 SRP / $44.95 SRP), a razor-sharp parody of Government, spin and Anglo-U.S. political relations, created by British comedy impresario Armando Ianucci (THE THICK OF IT, ABC1).

When the bumbling British Minister for International Development, Simon Foster (Tom Hollander), accidentally causes a media splash by mentioning the possibility of an attack on the Middle East, the waves are felt on both sides of the pond and the U.K. government’s chief spin doctor, Malcolm Tucker (Peter Capaldi) – supposedly based on spin-doctor Supreme Alistair Campbell – is sent in to manage the situation.

Foster soon finds himself out of his depth, in over his head and face to face with abusive peaceniks, unhinged warmongers, back-stabbing bureaucrats and, perhaps most significantly, the wrath of Tucker’s vicious and acerbic tongue. But with the backing of U.S. General Miller (James Gandolfini) and his own department’s Director of Communications (Gina McKee), perhaps he can salvage something of his dignity before the UN votes.

On top of all of this, in a scene that eerily mirror’s the aforementioned incident with Gordon Brown, Foster must also deal with a disgruntled constituent (Steve Coogan), who’s seemingly insignificant problems with his garden wall may hold far more weight for Foster than he could’ve possibly imagined.

Whatever your response to the outcome of the General Election may be – we can all thank ourselves lucky that IN THE LOOP is probably the closest we’ll ever get to that particular meat grinder.

NOTES TO EDITORS

  • IN THE LOOP is available on DVD & Blu-Ray – June 23, 2010
  • IN THE LOOP DVD $34.95 SRP / IN THE LOOP Blu-Ray $44.95 SRP
  • IN THE LOOP was nominated for a 2009 Academy Award® for Best Adapted Screenplay.
  • IN THE LOOP features an ensemble cast of British and American stars, including: Tom Hollander (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN series), James Gandolfini (THE SOPRANOS), Gina McKee (ATONEMENT), Steve Coogan (24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE), Peter Capaldi (THE THICK OF IT) and Anna Chlumsky (MY GIRL)
