WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES SESAME STREET: ELMO’S A-TO-ZOO ADVENTURE AND SESAME STREET: COOKIE’S COUNTING CARNIVAL

SUNNY DAYS ARE AHEAD AS EVERY GAME COMES WITH A “GAMEPLAY HELPER” TO HELP LITTLE HANDS GRIP AND PLAY!

Sydney, Australia – June 8, 2010 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announces Sesame Street: Elmo’s A-to-Zoo Adventure and Sesame Street: Cookie’s Counting Carnival, two fun and educational console videogames for preschoolers based on “Sesame Street,” the award-winning children’s television series.  Available for Wii™, Nintendo DS™ and PC in spring 2010, the complementary learning games introduce “gameplay helpers” to simplify gameplay controls and make them more accessible for preschoolers with small hands and developing skills.

“In Sesame Street: Elmo’s A-to-Zoo Adventure and Sesame Street: Cookie’s Counting Carnival, the youngest kids in the family and parents can learn and play video games together with their favourite characters from the much-loved and well-respected show,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Development and Production, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.  “The games encourage early math and literacy skills that engage preschoolers in a fun and exciting way, enabling them to learn at their own pace with easy tools for parents to guide their experiences.”

“We’re so pleased to offer families engaging new content that makes learning fun and easy for children,” said Scott Chambers, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Worldwide Media Distribution, Sesame Workshop.  “Whether it’s learning the ABCs with Elmo or counting with Cookie, kids are sure to have a good time with their favourite Sesame Street friends.”

In Sesame Street: Elmo’s A-to-Zoo Adventure, kids head to the zoo with Elmo, Zoe and their animal friends, as they explore games based on a variety of literacy skills, including letter identification, letter sounds and word families. Kids can also explore exciting zoo habitats including the Aquarium, Savannah, Jungle, Wetlands and the Arctic.

In Sesame Street: Cookie’s Counting Carnival, kids join Cookie Monster and Big Bird at a fun-filled carnival through gameplay steeped in math skills that include number identification, counting, shapes and pattern recognition. Kids journey through the game in the many areas of the carnival such as The Grandstand, Midway, Petting Zoo, Food Court and the Arcade.

Fun, education and accessibility combine with the unique offering of gameplay helpers, available for Wii and Nintendo DS systems at no additional charge. On Wii, the gameplay helper is a soft and fuzzy character cover with special grips that slips over the Wii Remote™, minimizing unnecessary buttons and making it easier and more fun to hold.  For Nintendo DS, there is a jumbo click stylus designed for smaller hands, simplifying interaction with the touch screen.

Developed by Black Lantern Studios, Inc., the games are entertaining and intuitive, enabling preschoolers to play by themselves with minimal involvement and also offer ways for parents to help without interfering.  The games feature a “Parent’s Page” where parents can review games their child has played along with relevant curriculum for each.  Using this option, parents can customize up to four profiles, set functions including difficulty level and game limits.

Apple Presents iPhone 4

All-New Design with FaceTime Video Calling, Retina Display, 5 Megapixel Camera & HD Video Recording

Thinnest Smartphone Ever

SYDNEY, Australia – 8 June, 2010 —Apple® today presented the new iPhone® 4 featuring FaceTime, which makes the dream of video calling a reality, and Apple’s stunning new Retina display, the highest resolution display ever built into a phone, resulting in super crisp text, images and video. In addition, iPhone 4 features a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, HD video recording, Apple’s A4 processor, a 3-axis gyro and up to 40 percent longer talk time—in a beautiful all-new design of glass and stainless steel that is the thinnest smartphone in the world. iPhone 4 comes with iOS 4, the newest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, which includes over 100 new features and 1500 new APIs for developers. iOS 4 features Multitasking, Folders, enhanced Mail, deeper Enterprise support and Apple’s new iAd mobile advertising platform. iPhone 4 will be available in the US, UK, France, Germany and Japan on June 24, starting in the US at just US$199 for qualified buyers with a two year contract.*

“iPhone 4 is the biggest leap since the original iPhone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “FaceTime video calling sets a new standard for mobile communication, and our new Retina display is the highest resolution display ever in a phone, with text looking like it does on a fine printed page. We have been dreaming about both of these breakthroughs for decades.”

FaceTime is as mobile as your phone, so you can see your loved ones and friends anywhere there is Wi-Fi. Using FaceTime is as easy as making a regular voice call, with no set-up required, and you can instantly switch to the rear camera to show others what you are seeing with just a tap.

Apple’s stunning 3.5 inch Retina display has 960 x 640 pixels—four times as many pixels as the iPhone 3GS and 78 percent of the pixels on an iPad™. The resulting 326 pixels per inch is so dense that the human eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels when the phone is held at a normal distance, making text, images and video look sharper, smoother and more realistic than ever before on an electronic display.

iPhone 4 is the thinnest smartphone ever—9.3 millimeters—with an all-new design and build quality like no other mobile device. The front and back are made of aluminosilcate glass, chemically strengthened to be 30 times harder than plastic, more scratch resistant and more durable than ever. The front and back glass have an oil-resistant coating that helps keep it clean, and encircling iPhone 4 is a highly finished stainless steel band made of a custom alloy that is forged to be five times stronger than standard steel.

iPhone 4 features a new 5 megapixel autofocus camera with a 5x digital zoom, a backside illuminated sensor and built-in LED flash that allows you to take amazing pictures even in low light and dark environments. iPhone 4 lets you record and edit incredible HD video and the popular tap to focus feature now works while recording video. You can use the iPhone 4‘s LED flash for both still photography and video recording. The new iMovie® app for iPhone lets you combine movie clips, add dynamic transitions and themes and include photos and music, and users can buy it through the App Store right on their phone.

iPhone 4 is the best mobile device ever for games and entertainment, with access to tens of thousands of games and entertainment apps on the revolutionary App Store. Every iPhone 4 has a built-in 3-axis gyro that when combined with the accelerometer provides 6-axis motion sensing such as up and down, side to side, forward and backward and pitch and roll, making it perfect for gaming. Developers can access the gyro using the new CoreMotion API to make games and other apps that go well beyond what other mobile devices offer.

iPhone 4 comes with iOS 4, the newest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system. With over 100 new features, it includes Multitasking, Folders, enhanced Mail, deeper Enterprise support and Apple’s new iAd mobile advertising platform. With Multitasking, users can now instantly switch between any of their apps while preserving battery life. With Folders, users can easily organise their apps into collections by simply dragging one app on top of another. A folder is automatically created and named based on the category of apps selected. Users can change the name of any folder at any time. In addition, users can now customise their lock and home screens with an array of supplied wallpapers or with any of the photos on their phone.

The new iBooks® app will be available for iPhone 4 as a free download from the App Store and includes Apple’s new iBookstore, the best way to browse, buy and read books on a mobile product. The iBooks app will sync your current place in a book, along with any bookmarks, highlights and notes you have created, between copies of the same book on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch®. iBooks users can also now read and store PDFs right in iBooks. Users have downloaded over five million books in the first two months.

More than five billion apps have been downloaded from the revolutionary App Store and more than 225,000 apps are available to consumers in 90 countries. Almost 100 million iPhone and iPod touch users around the world can choose from an incredible range of apps in 20 categories, including games, business, news, sports, health, reference and travel.

iPhone 4 delivers an amazing seven hours of talk time on 3G networks, up to 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi and up to six hours on 3G, and up to 10 hours of video playback and up to 40 hours of audio playback.** iPhone 4 is powered by Apple’s new A4 processor that provides exceptional processor and graphic performance along with long battery life. iPhone 4 features a second microphone and advanced software to suppress unwanted background noise for improved call quality when in loud places. iPhone 4 also offers 802.11n Wi-Fi networking and adds quad-band HSUPA to provide 7.2Mbps downlink and 5.8Mbps uplink capability.***

Pricing & Availability
iPhone 4 will roll out worldwide to 88 countries by the end of September. iPhone 4 will be available by the end of July in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

*Qualified customers only. Requires a new two year AT&T rate plan, sold separately.  US customers only.

**Battery life depends on device settings, usage and other factors. Actual results vary.

Apple to Debut iAds on July 1

Over $US60 Million in 2010 Commitments from Leading Global Brands

SYDNEY, Australia – 8 June, 2010—Apple® today announced it will debut its iAd mobile advertising network on July 1 on iPhone® and iPod touch® devices running its iOS 4 software platform. iAds combine the emotion of TV advertising with the interactivity of Internet advertising, giving advertisers a dynamic and powerful new way to bring motion and emotion to mobile users. iAd will kick off with mobile ad campaigns from leading global brands including AT&T, Best Buy, Campbell Soup Company, Chanel, Citi, DirecTV, GEICO, GE, JCPenney, Liberty Mutual Group, Nissan, Sears, State Farm, Target, Turner Broadcasting System, Unilever and The Walt Disney Studios. Apple has iAd commitments for 2010 totaling over US$60 million, which represents almost 50 percent of the total forecasted US mobile ad spending for the second half of 2010.*

“iAd offers advertisers the emotion of TV with the interactivity of the web, and offers users a new way to explore ads without being hijacked out of their favorite apps,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iAds will reach millions of iPhone and iPod touch users—a highly desirable demographic for advertisers—and provide developers a new way to earn money so they can continue developing free and low cost applications.”

“iAd will allow Citi to reach millions of people on their iPhone and iPod touch,” said Lisa Caputo, executive vice president and CMO, Citigroup. “iAd gives us a remarkable level of creativity for creating ads to connect with our current and future customers in a more interactive style than ever before.”

“iAd is going to revolutionise mobile advertising,” said Rob Master, North American media director, Unilever. “With iAd, we’ve been able to create some of our most powerful and compelling ads ever. iAd is the perfect mobile format to reach and engage with our customers.”

iAd, which is built into iOS 4, allows users to stay within their app while engaging with the ad, even while watching a video, playing a game or using in-ad purchase to download an app or buy iTunes® content.

Developers who join the iAd Network can easily incorporate a variety of advertising formats into their apps. Apple will sell and serve the ads, and developers will receive an industry-standard 60 percent of the iAd Network revenue, which is paid via iTunes Connect.

iAds require iOS 4, which will be a free software update via iTunes 9.2 or later for iPhone and iPod touch customers. iOS 4 will work with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and second and third generation iPod touch (late 2009 models with 32GB or 64GB).

*Percent of forecast based on an annual run rate basis, starting on July 1. US Mobile Display Advertising forecast from the report by JP Morgan, “Nothing But Net—2010 Internet Investment Guide,” January 3, 2010.

Apple ignited the personal computer revolution with the Apple II, then reinvented the personal computer with the Macintosh. Apple continues to lead the industry with its award-winning computers, OS X operating system, and iLife, iWork and professional applications. AVG (AU/NZ) Supports National Cyber Security Awareness Week

AVG provides the help you need to protect yourself online

Melbourne, 7 June 2010AVG (AU/NZ) Pty Ltd today announced its support for the fourth annual National Cyber Security Awareness Week 2010. The week aims to help Australians understand cyber security risks and educate home and small business users on six simple steps they can take to protect themselves online.

AVG (AU/NZ) believes that cyber security protection and education is an important issue every day of the year. “AVG’s award-winning Anti-Virus and Internet Security software products help to protect the active Internet users of more than 4.6 million PCs across Australia and New Zealand from global cyber criminals,” said Lloyd Borrett, Marketing Manager at AVG (AU/NZ). “Cyber crime is increasingly sophisticated and organised, but complex and poorly understood. It’s under reported because victims are embarrassed and confused.

“Sure, like other security companies, AVG helps to protect people using advanced technologies,” Borrett continued. “But by participating in National Cyber Security Awareness Week we can also continue our efforts to help people understand how the bad guys have brought age-old fraudulent human and social engineering exploits into the online world.

“Ignorance of the risks and nature of cyber crime is what poses the greatest threat to Internet users. 80% of cyber crime attacks are easily preventable, if you know what to do.”

AVG (AU/NZ) will support the week by participating in the Cyber Security Roundtable for People with Disabilities on Monday 7 June at Parliament House, Canberra. Leading advocates in the cyber security and disability sectors will discuss industry and government initiatives designed to create a safer online experience. Borrett will speak and participate at the Roundtable to shine a light on the current and likely future state of the online security landscape and what everyone needs to do to stay safe online.

Borrett will also be speaking at the separate Community and Small Business sessions for National Cyber Security Awareness Week being held in Bendigo, Victoria on Tuesday 8 June, which are being hosted by Continuing Education Bendigo.

On Thursday 10 June, Borrett will be at ANZ Bank headquarters in Melbourne to speak and participate in an expert panel session looking at how cyber crime is impacting government and business alike and the things people can and should be doing to address associated issues.

AVG (AU/NZ) will continue its well received series of informative security tips (www.avg.com.au/resources/security-tips/) which are fast becoming a rich resource of material to help families and business.

As a part of National Cyber Security Awareness Week 2010 the Australian Government launched the “Protecting Yourself Online – What Everyone Needs to Know” booklet. It contains practical advice on how people can secure their computer, be smart with their online finances and identities, and keep themselves and their family safe online. The booklet is available on the government Stay Smart Online web site at www.staysmartonline.gov.au. You can also sign up for the plain language, free Cyber Security Alert Service.

Twenty years of cutting edge Indigenous theatre celebrated at Bunjilaka

A retrospective exhibition showcasing 20 groundbreaking years of the internationally acclaimed Ilbijerri Theatre Company will go on show at Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre at Melbourne Museum from 9 July 2010.

20 Years: Bold. Black. Brilliant. is part of a lively and inspiring program of exhibitions and events at Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre this winter that celebrate Indigenous culture, history and survival. The exhibition will be showcased alongside From Little Things Big Things Grow, an exhibition about Aboriginal activism in Australia between 1920 and 1970.

20 Years: Bold. Black. Brilliant. marks the twentieth anniversary of the Ilbijerri Theatre Company, which was created by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists in Melbourne in response to seeing non-Indigenous theatre companies telling Indigenous stories.

“It all started with a group of Indigenous actors sitting around in a backyard saying ‘we need our own theatre company to tell our stories our way’,” says Rachael Maza Long, Ilbijerri’s Artistic Director. From this passion, a professional theatre company was born, whose plays explore a range of complex and controversial issues from a uniquely Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective. This belief in “the power of black voices telling black stories” still drives the company.

From the breakthrough production of Stolen, commissioned in 1992, to the upcoming world premiere of Jack Charles v The Crown, the company has toured nationally and internationally, finding resonance and critical acclaim with Indigenous and non-Indigenous audiences alike.

Curated by Ben McKeown, 20 Years: Bold. Black. Brilliant. will give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at life in the theatre company through objects including sets, props and photography from Ilbijerri productions.

The exhibition will open on July 9 during NAIDOC Week (4 – 11 July), a week that celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and recognises the contributions of Indigenous Australians. Bunjilaka will celebrate the occasion with performances of Jacky Jacky in the Box from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 July between 11am and 3pm. First performed in 2008, Jacky Jacky in the Box is confronting performance in which an Aboriginal performer goes on display in the museum galleries, challenging audiences to reconsider perceptions of Indigenous Australia as an anthropological curiosity.

20 Years: Bold. Black. Brilliant. is presented as part of the Bunjilaka Community Exhibition Program, an annual program of changing exhibitions in Bunjilaka’s Birrarung Gallery celebrating the creativity of individual Koorie artists and communities from across Victoria.

Sydney, Australia – 4th June, 2010 : Lexar Media, a leading global provider of memory products for digital media, announced today the Australian availability of its flash-based, backup drives, Lexar® Echo SE and Lexar Echo ZE. Designed to protect valuable data on netbook and notebook computers, Echo SE and ZE backup drives provide users with portable, easy-to-use file backup solutions for their mobile lifestyles.

High-performance Echo SE is an ultra-portable drive that easily plugs into a computer’s USB port to perform automatic backup and transfer of files, at read speeds up to 28MB/s and write speeds up to 10MB/s. Echo ZE, with its low-profile 20.1 by 15.1 millimetre size and plug-and-stay design, is an always-ready drive providing a convenient means to automatically back up essential files – anytime, anywhere. Both drives are interoperable between Windows® XP, Windows VistaTM, and Windows 7, as well as Mac OS® X operating systems, allowing data to be seamlessly accessible whether using PC or Mac computers.

In the recent Parks Associates survey, ‘Mobile Convergence,’ over a third of participants expressed interest in a flash-based drive with automatic backup software for their netbook or notebook, and Echo SE and ZE answer that demand,” explained Richard Clarke, national sales manager ANZ, Lexar Media. “The Echo line has been designed specifically for users on the go. Whether it’s backing up business proposals when travelling or your university assignments whilst in the library, the Echo SE and ZE drives provide secure, high-capacity options to meet the needs of today’s netbook and notebook user without the cables and external drives that traditional backup solutions require.”

The drives include versatile, built-in Echo backup software developed by Dmailer for Lexar. Key features include targeted file backup, which stores only specified files and reduces wasted disk space, and file versioning, which backs up a history of files and allows the retrieval of previous versions. Additionally, the software offers optional AES 128-bit encryption, enabling protection in the event of drive loss.
