Miffy’s World (Wii) release date

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – 25th June 2010 – PAN Vision Group, a leading independent Nordic publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment based in Stockholm Sweden, in conjunction with Mercis bv, the Amsterdam based licensor, are pleased to announce that one of the leading brands in children’s entertainment over the last half century, Miffy, is set to make its long awaited appearance on videogames consoles with Miffy’s World debuting on WiiWare™ in  summer  2010.

Developed by independent Portuguese game developer Biodroid, and featuring the star of approximately 120 books which have sold in excess of 85 million copies worldwide since her debut in 1955, Miffy’s World is a simulation game world for children featuring the rabbit Miffy and her cast of animal friends. Helping to stimulate the creative aspects of the imagination through the game’s quests and puzzles, children are encouraged to explore the world of Miffy and interact with its array of colourful characters.

Miffy’s World also has an innovative parent control feature. Because the game is aimed at young children it will only be playable from the real world hours of 6am to 9pm. Time in the game is synchronized with the Wii’s internal clock and real time will be visible by the relative position of the sun from sunrise to sunset and on the clock inside Miffy’s house. When 9pm approaches (or at any time chosen by the parent) an alert will be sent to the player, the game will be saved and an animation will show Miffy going to bed.

Miffy’s Mom or Dad can also be controlled by a parent at the same time as their child is playing as Miffy. Although they cannot directly interact with the game world they can point at various objects using a second controller and thus help with any quests or puzzles that children may need encouragement with. If a parent is not available however, Miffy’s Mom and Dad have scripted behaviours; they will never leave the house if not controlled by a player, they will initiate quests for Miffy to undertake outside in the game world, and they will also perform the ‘help’ function throughout the game whenever the player is not progressing.

55 years on, Miffy is now a global phenomenon with Miffy’s World set to be her greatest adventure yet!

The brand new trailer is available to download from: https://www.yousendit.com/download/K0JUS3hjNDJQb0pFQlE9PQ

Friday 25th June 2010 – SEGA Europe Ltd. today announced that Napoleon: Total War – The Peninsular Campaign is now available for PC exclusively via Steam™. This expansion pack includes a brand new campaign map featuring 32 controllable regions divided amongst four different factions of which three are playable.  In addition to France and Britain, Spain is also added as a playable faction exclusively on this campaign map.

It is 1811 and the war in the Spanish Peninsula has been raging for over two years with mixed fortunes and heavy casualties for both sides. Napoleon’s Armée d’Espagne, led by Marshal Masséna, has invaded Portugal once again, but thus far, the network of entrenchments has proved impossible for the French to successfully assail. Although forced back to the edges of their Peninsula by France and the traitors who helped them, Spain is not yet out of the fight. The Supreme Central Junta and its successor, the Supreme Regency, authorised the forming of local bands to fight guerrilla – the “little war” – against the invaders.
