Total Call of Duty immersion is coming to a secure 12-acre compound in the urban confines of Los Angeles on Labor Day weekend, where more than 6,000 fans will be the first to witness the world premiere of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer. Attendees will be among the first to have the opportunity to get hands-on time with multiplayer and the new Spec Ops survival co-op mode. Also on display for the first time will be the full feature functionality of Call of Duty® Elite, the innovative new online service, built from the ground-up to support Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Supporting this epic reveal is a series of real-world Call of Duty action-experiences and gaming competitions as well as an unprecedented $1 million Call of Duty tournament by Activision and the event’s lead sponsor, Xbox 360. Through Activision’s network of global partners, fans will have the opportunity to qualify for the tournament prior to the event by showcasing their skills in Call of Duty®: Black Ops multiplayer through regional promotions and competitions. For those unable to qualify in advance, there will be select, on-site/at-large qualifications, further expanding the opportunity to compete for cash prizes among some of the best Call of Duty players in the world. Tickets for Call of Duty XP will be available for $150. Tickets will go on sale July 19, giving attendees a two-day pass and the chance to be completely immersed in the action and excitement of Call of Duty. Players will be able to challenge each other in a paintball firefight on a life-sized Call of Duty multiplayer map, as well as attempt to speed-run Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s legendary “The Pit”—for real. NAMCO BANDAI GAMES RELEASES GALAGA LEGIONS™ DX FOR XBOX LIVE® ARCADE

 Code Red! New Galaga Formation Detected on Xbox 360® 

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – 30 June 2011 – NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe continues the 30th anniversary of Galaga with the release of Galaga Legions DX via Xbox Live® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft for 800 Microsoft Points. Developed by the team behind last year’s award-winning hit, PAC-MAN™ Championship Edition DX, Galaga Legions DX drops players in the middle of the largest Galaga armada ever assembled and the most chaotic space war imaginable.

Galaga Legions DX refines the classic space shooter gameplay loved by millions, turning it into the most action-packed entry in the series’ 30 year history. Players will face thousands of Galaga aliens as they blast their way through ten Areas, each with its own unique stages and Galaga formations.  Galaga Legions DX also lets players customize their game by choosing from a selection of Galaga skins, including the classic original. Players will have plenty of offensive and defensive options at their disposal. Focus Fire allows the space ship’s rate of fire to increase the closer they are to the enemy, enabling players drill through the heart of an approaching Galaga swarm.

The player’s space ship is now outfitted with two special satellite guns that are always at your ship’s side and can flip between two firing modes at a press of a button. Both satellites will fire straight ahead in any direction you point them in for head-on attacks, or switch to the alternate firing mode where the satellites will mirror each other’s shots for when a player’s ship is totally surrounded in all directions. In certain stages through the game, a sort of black hole will appear. Shoot it to capture all the Galaga aliens on-screen and have them join your legion to fight for you! Your Galaga legions will provide ultimate firepower, but are easily destroyed.

Galaga Legions DX is the second title to be released as part of Namco Generations, a special series of downloadable games designed to introduce and re-introduce generations of video game players to classic Namco arcade titles with fun and imaginative updated versions of beloved games. Players can also look forward to Aero-Cross™, under development for Xbox Live® Arcade for Xbox 360® and PlayStation®Network for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.
