IMAGE COMICS’ THE VAULT #2 SELLS OUT

Following on the heels of the sold out debut issue, Double G Marketing proudly announces that THE VAULT #2, written by Sam Sarkar (Caliber: First Canon of Justice), illustrated by Garrie Gastonny (Warren Ellis’
Supergod), edited by Dave Elliott (current EIC at Benaroya Publishing) and published through Image Comics has sold out at the distributor level.

THE VAULT, recently optioned for a feature film adaptation from Johnny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil and Graham King’s GK Films, is about a small team of treasure hunters, struggling to excavate a dangerous and legendary treasure pit before a massive storm hits Sable Island, the “Graveyard of the North Atlantic.” Equipped with all the latest technology, the scientists believe they are prepared against all of nature’s fury, but nothing can prepare them for what they are about to unleash.

Sam Sarkar, when informed of the news, stated, ‘Once again, I’m very grateful to the retailers for ordering it and the readers for picking it up. Even though there is only one issue left in the series, this is not the end. It is only the BEGINNING of the end. Hopefully, it’ll take a long time and a lot of great reading to get there. My thanks to Garrie Gastonny for the amazing realization of THE VAULT and to Sakti Yuwono and Bagus Hutomo as well. Gianluca Glazer is a rockstar for getting the word out and of course, it would never have happened at all without my editor and good fiend, Dave Elliott. And yes, I called him a fiend.”

Critics who’ve read THE VAULT had this to say:

‘You don’t want to miss out on this deep-sea adventure!’ – Fangoria

‘A highly enjoyable read.’ – Newsarama

”Looking forward to more.’ ‘ MTV Geek

‘This is turning out to be a great story.’ ‘ My Comic Network

Sword Girls | Vita Public High School Preview

Sword Girls: Vita Public High School Preview

Today, we’ll be looking at the Vita Public School, the first of four factions in the anime-style online card game, Sword Girls (http://www.SwordGirlsOnline.com). The Vita Public School is just like any other in the world of Sword Girls. It’s a place for students to learn, socialize, cast spells, and get into sword fights. Oh, and a bunch of students also happen to be part-time monster hunters. It’s a good way to practice magic, a skill that more employers are demanding from new graduates, but it’s not a bad way to earn some cash on the side.

Unknown Girl Sita Vilosa

Sita Vilosa is the main character of Sword Girls, a regular girl with a special talent thrust into a dangerous situation. She’s a new student at Vita, but she’s made a name for herself after saving a town from a monster attack. While she might want to sit back and relax in the peace she’s won, life isn’t that simple. Soon, tragedy will strike, and she’ll have to see just how far she’s willing to go to save a friend.

As the signature Character of the Vita starter deck, Sita is a flexible Character that’s good in just about any situation. At the start of every turn, she inflicts a point of Stamina damage on up to three enemy Followers. Combined with the damage her Followers put out, this adds up quickly, ignoring Defense and finishing off wounded Followers.

Cooking Studies Katie

In spite of her questionable cooking skills, Katie is one of the Vita starter deck’s best Followers. They say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and Katie’s cooking embodies this perfectly. Every time she attacks, her Stamina goes down, but her Defense rises. The longer you can keep her fighting, the tougher she gets. If you can keep her healed, she’ll eventually become so tough that no attack can hurt her.

Heartless Blow

For enemies that just won’t drop, whether they have too much Stamina or their Defense is too high, Heartless Blow is a solid solution. It’s a Spell card, so it acts before Followers, and it instantly deals 4 damage to an enemy Follower, which is some serious damage. On top of that, if Sita is leading your deck, then this will do another 2 damage to another enemy Follower. Combined with Sita’s own damage every turn, you can chop through enemy Followers rapidly.

Balance

Our last card of the day is Balance. This card is a Double Rare. It’s one of the hardest cards to get in episode one, but it’s also a powerful game changer. If you’re about to lose, Balance will save you. It’s a Spell that wipes the slate clean, so to speak. Both Characters’ LIFE totals are made to equal each other, and Followers get removed from the Field until both players have the same number of cards out. To balance what it just did, Balance also wipes out your hand, though having Sita or another Vita Character restricts the damage to Followers.

On the Verge of their Final Stand, New “Gears of War 3”1 Trailer Traces the Epic Journey of Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad from ‘Dust to Dust’

The end is near. It was almost five years ago when Epic Games and Microsoft introduced Marcus Fenix and his band of brothers in “Gears of War” for Xbox 360. On Sept. 20, 2011, their journey will come to a legendary conclusion with the launch of “Gears of War 3,”1 as Delta makes their final push to save the planet and all humanity… or die trying.

Released today, the new trailer for “Gears of War 3,” 1 entitled ‘Dust to Dust,’ pays tribute to the heroes of one of gaming’s most epic sagas. In April 2010, ‘Ashes to Ashes’ set a grim stage fraught with desperation, but a glimmer of hope remained as Delta clung to the ideal of brotherhood. Months later came the E3 2011 trailer featuring ‘War Pigs,’ and new images of resilience as Sera’s last remaining human forces rallied in an explosive fight for survival.  And now, set to the song ‘To Dust’ by Mazzy Star, the stirring new video follows the full saga of Marcus and Delta’s journey across all three “Gears of War” games as they charge head on into the end.

The spectacular conclusion to one of gaming’s most celebrated trilogies, “Gears of War 3”1 has already surpassed 1.3 million pre-orders worldwide, making it the fastest pre-selling Xbox exclusive in the history of the platform. As further testament to the immense anticipation surrounding the game, 1.3 million players played more than 20 million matches in the “Gears of War 3”1 multiplayer beta this spring, helping refine and polish the hotly anticipated juggernaut.

Developed by acclaimed studio Epic Games, “Gears of War 3”1 launches worldwide on Sept. 20, 2011 (and in Japan on Sept. 22), and is available for preorder today in three distinct editions – Standard (AUD$99.95 RRP2), Limited (AUD$129.95 RRP2) and Epic (AUD$199.95 RRP2).

THE SIMS MEDIEVALTM: PIRATES AND NOBLES LANDS ASHORE TODAY

SYDNEY, Australia Sept 1st 2011 – Gather your doubloons. The EA Play Label of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that The Sims Medieval™: Pirates and Nobles is now available across North America. The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles is an adventure pack to The Sims Medieval*, a new series that places the popular simulated characters from The Sims into the Middle Ages and lets players create heroes, venture on quests and control a kingdom. The adventure pack includes a new storyline, additional quests and one new Kingdom Ambition for players to embark on in their medieval kingdoms.

“We set out to take advantage of the great questing feature of the base game and with The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles tell an epic story complete with adventure, drama romance, a royal wedding, a courtroom scene and more ,” said Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims Studio. “It’s a kind of storytelling that you won’t see in any other Sims game. On top of that we added some great new features, including treasure hunting, interrogation, and pet parrots and falcons.”

Players can unleash their inner swash-buckling pirate or regal noble by creating a new Hero Sim or customizing their existing medieval Sim with new clothing and accessories. They begin the epic adventure by choosing a side – pirate or noble – and then the adventure is up to them for how it plays out. They can battle an enemy in a sword fight or explore the exciting new gameplay feature of treasure hunting. Players will have to find hidden objects and search for desirable rewards that will benefit their Sim’s quests. Additionally, players embark on exhilarating quests such as finding the fountain of youth, protecting the kingdom from an evil sorcerer, or engaging in a forbidden love affair. Once the story is finished, they can replay the story choosing different quests and see what ending they’ll get the next time around.

New to the adventure pack, The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles bring birds in a variety of colors and species into the medieval world as lovable, or not so lovable, sidekicks. Players can own a falcon or parrot that they can use to hunt, train, feed, or even send on missions. If one finds that they are unhappy with a rival, parrots can also be sent to do some dirty work and attack the Sim for them. Another useful gameplay feature is the interrogation chair. Players who are looking for more information out of a fellow Sim will find the new item quite useful. The interrogation chair can be used to persuade their enemies to spill their deepest secrets and help players move forward in their quests and Kingdom Ambition. With The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles, the new adventures to explore are endless.

The Sims Medieval is rated M.. To download artwork, please visit www.ea-anz-press.com. For more information about The Sims Medieval please visit www.info.ea.com, or the official website at www.piratesandnobles.com.

Stunning Stallions of Spain in Victoria in 2011

The magnificent white stallions of Spain are dancing their way to Victoria from August  – October 2011.

The fully choreographed arena spectacular El Caballo Blanco: The Dance of the White Stallions will be performed in Echuca, Traralgon, Albury, Warrnambool, Ballarat and Geelong!

The show is led by world-renowned riding master Rene Gasser who, with the experiences of seven generations, has recreated an event only previously seen at the famous riding schools in Vienna and Spain.

The horses of Spain are some of the most celebrated in history, favoured for centuries by European royalty, equestrian riders and bullfighters and this performance will celebrate the tradition, athleticism and grace of these revered creatures.

Along with the magnificent stallions, Spanish flamenco dancers will feature in authentic vibrant costumes accompanied by the mellow notes of a guitar to bring the sights and sounds of Spain a heartbeat away.

In the south of Spain, the tradition of flamenco dancing is rivalled only by the tradition of breeding fine Spanish horses and Rene Gasser says the breeds have been featured in portraits with European royalty, used in multiple movies and are extremely popular among riders.

El Caballo Blanco: The Dance of the White Stallions will feature a number of performances involving the Andalusian, Friesian, Lipizzaner and Arabian breeds and the event is dedicated to showing off the amazing beauty and manoeuvres these horses are capable of.

“We’re going to have horses dancing alongside some tremendous flamenco dancers, and I think people are really going to be excited about watching this,” Rene says.
