Introduces iWork.com Public Beta for Online Document Sharing

SYDNEY—January 7, 2009—Apple® today introduced iWork® ’09, the latest version of Apple’s popular office productivity suite, which adds powerful new features without sacrificing Apple’s legendary ease of use. Keynote® ’09 introduces advanced object transitions, which automatically animate objects with a choice of effects and Magic Move, an innovative way to create sophisticated animations just by applying a simple transition. Pages® ’09 features a new Full Screen view that helps you focus on your writing and an outline mode to organise your thoughts. Numbers® ’09 introduces a quick way to group and summarise data and a dramatically simplified way to create complex formulas. Apple also announced iWork.com public beta, a new service Apple is developing to share iWork ’09 documents online.

“Millions of Mac users have fallen in love with iWork,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “With iWork ’09, Apple continues to demonstrate that innovation is possible in office productivity software, and that creating impressive presentations, documents and spreadsheets doesn’t need to be complicated.”

Keynote ’09 introduces Magic Move, which allows you to apply a simple transition to automatically animate the position, scale, rotation and opacity of any image, graphic or text that is repeated on consecutive slides. New text transitions morph text from one slide to the next. New advanced object transitions animate objects off one slide while simultaneously animating objects onto the next slide with a choice of effects. 3D charts now include cylinder shapes, beveled-edge pie charts, new textures and four new 3D build effects. The Keynote Remote application, sold separately in the App Store, lets you view slides and presenter notes and control your presentation with your iPhone™ or iPod® touch.

Pages ’09 Full Screen view lets you focus on your document without any distractions and reveals the menus, format bar and page navigator only when needed. Outline mode includes templates that help to quickly build the framework for your document and allow you to collapse, expand and rearrange elements, even inline graphics, with ease. MathType 6 support lets engineers, mathematicians and students easily add sophisticated equations to their documents and EndNote X2 integration lets users add and edit comprehensive bibliographic references. Pages ’09 also includes 40 new Apple-designed templates, including newsletters, posters, certificates and coordinated stationery.

Numbers ’09 provides a great way to quickly categorise data by column, which you can then collapse, expand and summarise to easily make sense of large sets of data. Numbers ’09 makes formula writing dramatically easier with an enhanced function browser which includes built-in help for over 250 functions, and visual placeholders with tool tips that explain each variable in a formula. Use the new Formula List to view all formulas in your entire spreadsheet and jump directly to any formula cell with a single click. Expanded chart options include mixed chart types, two-axis charts, and the ability to apply trend lines and error bars. Numbers charts pasted into Pages or Keynote are linked, and can be updated with a single click.

Apple also introduced iWork.com public beta, a new service Apple is developing to share iWork ’09 documents online. Using your Apple ID, just click the iWork.com icon in the Keynote, Pages or Numbers toolbar to upload your document and invite others to view it online. Viewers can provide comments and notes, and download a copy of your document in iWork, Microsoft Office or PDF formats. A consolidated online list of all your shared documents indicates when your viewers have posted comments.

Pricing & Availability
iWork ’09 is now available through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com/au), Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorised Resellers for a suggested retail price of $129 (RRP including GST).

AUSTRALIA, Sydney – January 7, 2008 – Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), makers of Norton security software, today announced the availability of Norton Internet Security 4 for Mac, a next-generation security suite that integrates an all-new firewall and antivirus protection with tools to help protect against identity theft.  The newest version of Norton Internet Security for Mac installs in about one minute and features an improved user interface with fast, unobtrusive updates.  In addition, the solution includes fully configurable settings for more technical users.

Symantec also launched today Norton Internet Security for Mac Dual Protection, securing Mac users running Boot Camp or other Windows virtualisation software – programs that allow users to run both Mac OS X Leopard and Windows operating systems.  This solution provides comprehensive protection from both Mac and Windows-based vulnerabilities and malicious code.  With Norton Internet Security for Mac Dual Protection, Mac users benefit by receiving Symantec’s newest security suite for the Mac and the award-winning Norton Internet Security 2009 for Windows.

While automatically blocking computers attempting to exploit vulnerabilities from connecting to the Mac using different protocols, Norton Internet Security for Mac’s firewall now also offers application control, which allows users to manage the applications that are connecting to the Internet, protecting Macs from spyware. Also, new location awareness controls let users specify different connection settings for every network to which the computer is connected.  Norton Internet Security for Mac is also integrated with Symantec’s DeepSight Threat Management System, updating the firewall rules at least once a day to protect against the latest attacking IP addresses.

According to the Symantec Report on the Underground Economy, credit card and financial information make up more than 50 percent of the stolen goods advertised by cyber criminals online.[1] To help consumers protect their personal information online from phishing threats, Norton Internet Security for Mac now includes the leading commercial antiphishing solution for Safari and Firefox browsers.  By blocking fake Web sites and authenticating popular Web sites, Norton Internet Security for Mac allows users to bank, shop and browse online with confidence.

“Even Mac owners are susceptible to online threats, and when it comes to phishing, it doesn’t matter what platform you’re using,” said Rowan Trollope, senior vice president, Consumer Business Unit, Symantec.  “The data we are seeing from Symantec’s Security Response is showing that Macs can be a target for viruses and malware.  Norton Internet Security for Mac now helps safeguard users from phishing threats, malware and hackers, without compromising system performance.”

In addition to comprehensive antivirus protection, Norton Internet Security for Mac also features vulnerability protection, addressing the avenue where many of today’s attacks occur – through applications connected to the Internet. This technology prevents threats from infecting systems and deletes and blocks malware and viruses from installing.

The Matt Kelly Show to move into a new home … and charter new territories for Season Three

MELBOURNE – Tuesday 16 December, 2008 – The Matt Kelly Show, which is heading into its third season, will take up ‘online residence’ in a new home – www.mattkellyshow.com. Produced by Robtot Media, the first ‘new look’ episode of the season will appear this week and will relieve fans of tension created by the series final cliff hanger of Season Two.

“At the completion of the first season, which we launched in 2007 under the loose name ‘MyMedia Comics’, I really didn’t intend to continue with the comic. However, pretty soon after the series had ended, we were being plagued by fans and fellow employees who demanded a season return,” commented Matt Kelly, ‘Star’ and Creator of The Matt Kelly Show.

“The company management even jumped on the ‘bring it back’ band wagon and we started working on season two. Ironically, I started the comic as a way for me to procrastinate at work – and get away with it – and all of a sudden it had a following,” he added.
The Matt Kelly Show follows the lives of Matt and his friends as they navigate the social pitfalls of work and life. From dealing with the bureaucratic nature of office management, to battling with ‘rock star’ aspirations, The Matt Kelly Show is closer to being a prime time sitcom than a web comic.
The series, which is written and drawn by Matt Kelly, delivers lengthy comics on a weekly basis and features on going storylines with ‘geeky undertones’ that will make you laugh. As such, the series has found a place in the hearts and online viewing habits of many.
In Season Two, the series branched out to include ‘celebrity guest stars’, with guest stars invited to contribute to both the writing and character design of their comic characters. The show also regularly features guest writers, who are invited to take part throughout the season.
The Matt Kelly Show is back for Season Three – even bigger and more ‘brazen’ than before and ready to let loose the chaos of a whole new season in its own special part of cyberspace.
“It always amazes me how far the series has come. I remember when we kicked off that I would look at the stats and get excited when just a handful of people read the comics. I never thought we’d have enough readership to make the idea of giving the series its own site a realistic one,” Matt commented.

Of the whole ‘comic character concept, Matt says, “There’s the odd day when I think it was probably a bad idea to make myself a comic character, but all up it’s a lot of fun. If worst comes to worst, maybe I’ll go have some serious surgery done, change my identity, call myself Octavio Jenkins and let comic Matt Kelly live on as his own identity while Octavio Jenkins works as a slave to his adventures. I’m sure some movie did that… it worked out well right?”

-ends-

About Robtot Media:

Originally created due to a stupid mistake with paying taxes, Robtot Media is now in the business of IP management – for the Matt Kelly Show along with many other series. The site has a host of exclusive content on the game including information on the game’s key features, story and the two playable factions and their available units.
