The phenomenon Farming Simulator 2013® unveils an ultimate series of screenshots, inviting us in a tour of these new features and exceptional content from the game.

Farming Simulator 2013 first offers a huge new playable map: bigger than before, this map features many locations to both buy new equipment and sell your fresh products. It also features many field plots players can buy in order to expand their farm, diversify crops, but also build new infrastructure such as wind turbines and greenhouses.

And this is not all! Dozens of new machines and vehicles, some of which are dedicated to the new crops in the game like potatoes and sugar beets, make their appearance alongside large and prestigious manufacturers never seen before in Farming Simulator: Case IH, Lamborghini, Grimme, and Amazon to name a few. Horrifying new NPCs, gruesome exclusive resources and foreboding buildings are creeping their way into The Settlers® Online Halloween party!

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – October 22nd, 2012 – Ubisoft® and its renowned studio Blue Byte® are bubbling up a very special Halloween event for The Settlers® Online. A chilling wind will be howling across the vast lands of the free online game, bringing with it a host of deliciously sinister new features. On the Halloween party menu are new buildings, creepy customisations, diabolical buffs, bonus quests and loads more surprises for the taking in the Halloween Item Shop.

New characters that go bump in the dark: Eliot, the pumpkin master and an exclusive general, The Grim Reaper

The diabolical Halloween celebrations will unfold in a twilight world bathed in macabre music. The events will be brought to players by a new NPC who answers to the charming name of Eliot. A master of pumpkins, Eliot is in charge of setting quests and delivering rewards. The more spirited players will be able to send the Grim Reaper into battle, a strapping general with a formidable presence.

Pranks, pumpkins and confetti

Grow and harvest as many Pumpkins as possible to fill up on special bonuses. Cashing in on the juicy crop will give access to one of five new potions (otherwise known as buffs), including Zombie, Mr. Myers, Darkness, Frank and Stein and A Very Strong Light.  These potions (buffs) will act like spells to increase production or, if devilish pranks are your thing, to bring a friend’s production to a grinding halt.

Players will also be able to place, move and exchange new buildings, with the Pumpkin Field, the Village School, and a selection of crumbling ruins starring for the very first time in this Halloween event, alongside the Silo Building.

UNIVERSAL PICTURES AND MADAME TUSSAUDS IMMORTALISE E.T. THE EXTRA TERRESTRIAL

IN CELEBRATION OF ITS FIRST EVER RELEASE ON BLU-RAY AND TO COINCIDE WITH THE FILM’S 30TH ANNIVERSARY

SYDNEY, 22October, 2012 – To celebrate the Blu-ray release and the 30th anniversary of Steven Spielberg’s beloved classic film, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Sydney’s Madame Tussauds today unveiled their astonishing wax figure of the iconic hero.

Whilst Sydney was the first to unveil E.T., The Extra Terrestrial star will also be appearing in Berlin, Amsterdam, London and Hollywood today as part of the global launch.

Helping E.T. into his new home was a troupe of local riders from Sydney BMX Club. Lachlan Stewart (11 years old, from Manly), led the group by taking the place of Elliott (Henry Thomas) in the film, bringing the classic bike scene to life.

From today, guests who visit the exhibit will also have the chance to take Elliott’s place in the scene that saw E.T. and Elliott soaring on a BMX against the stunning backdrop of a full moon. The figure was first perfectly sculpted in clay and then moulded in wax, with a team of expert colourists then using oil paints to perfectly recreate E.T.’s unique complexion. The entire process took around two months and cost £50,000 (over $75,000) to produce.

E.T. fans will also be able to relive many others classic scenes with the first ever release of the film on Blu-ray, featuring never-before-seen footage from the film set including an interview with director Steven Spielberg.

We are delighted to be welcoming one of the greatest movie characters of all time to the attraction. We’re also absolutely certain that our guests are going to love the unique opportunity to ‘star’ in one of the most famous films ever made,” said Nicky Marsh, Madame Tussauds Global Marketing Director.

In 1982,E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial became the biggest blockbuster of the year, debuting at number one around the world. A testament to its enduring appeal, it remains one of the most successful, well-loved films for the past three decades and will continue to inspire generations to come.

Constance Langdon, is the neighbourhood busy body.  Presenting herself as an innocent, gentle southern woman who runs a doggy day care centre, Constance is anything but. With her cutting and brash nature, Constance is an intrusive next door neighbour to the new to the neighbourhood Harmon’s.

The housekeeper of the house for many generations, Moira is seen differently by Ben and Vivien. To Vivien she appears as an old woman, sweet and passive.  To Ben however, she appears young, attractive and extremely seductive.

4563 manuscripts submitted in 14 days:

Harper Voyager’s open call for manuscript submissions closes after an unprecedented response to global publishing opportunity

Following the announcement on September 13th that the combined Harper Voyager imprint of Harper Collins in Australia, the UK and the USA were launching an exciting opportunity for debut fantasy and science fiction authors to submit their manuscripts directly to be chosen for publication, over 4563 manuscripts have been received.

Prospective authors from around the world reacted enthusiastically and en masse to this unique opportunity, in what was un unprecedented response. The submissions portal was open from the 1st to the 14th of October, and now it has closed, the publishers have begun the challenging task of reading through the huge number of manuscripts.
