Synopsis In Kyurem Vs. The Sword of Justice, Ash and Pikachu, along with their friends Iris and Cilan, are on a train headed to the next stop on their journey.  From the train, Ash spots an injured Pokémon – one he’s never seen before.  He’s trying to figure out how he can help when the train is attacked by the Legendary Kyurem, a Dragon-type Pokémon with immense power!  Ash and the others barely manage to escape the rampaging Kyurem’s attack, and as the dust settles, they turn their attention to the injured Pokémon.

Canon expands EF Cinema Lens line-up with two new prime lenses for 4K cameras

SYDNEY, 16 January, 2013 — Canon Australia announced today the launch of two new fixed-focal-length EF Cinema Lenses: the CN-E14mm T3.1 L F and CN-E135mm T2.2 L F (for EF mounts). Featuring exceptional optical performance, the two new lenses support a range of motion picture and video production applications, including 4K (4096 x 2160 pixels) production standards.

The new Canon CN-E14mm T3.1 L F and CN-E135mm T2.2 L F prime lenses deliver outstanding optical performance, supporting use with 4K-resolution cameras. Offering compatibility with 35mm full-frame sensors, the lenses can be paired with not only high-end digital SLR cameras, but also digital cinema cameras equipped with industry-standard-size Super 35mm-equivalent sensors, including Canon’s EF-mount Cinema EOS digital cinema camera line-up, as well EF-mount cameras incorporating APS-H-size or APS-C-size sensors.

The lenses deliver colour reproduction performance optimised for cinematic applications in harmony with that of other EF Cinema Lens-series models, and are each equipped with an 11-blade aperture diaphragm for soft, attractive blur characteristics. Featuring compact, lightweight body designs, the CN-E14mm T3.1 L F and CN-E135mm T2.2 L F weigh only 1.2 kg and 1.4 kg, respectively.

The Canon CN-E14mm T3.1 L F and CN-E135mm T2.2 L F each include a focus ring that can be rotated up to approximately 300 degrees to enable minute changes in focus. In addition, the focus and aperture values are displayed at an angle on each side of the lens’s exterior casings to ensure visibility when users are positioned behind the camera. A future firmware update for the EOS C300, EOS C500 and EOS-1D C will allow data regarding the lens name and shooting settings to be sent to the camera on which the lens is mounted through the electronic connection in the lens mount, enabling the camera to automatically correct for uneven peripheral illumination.

Through the comprehensive strength of Canon’s EF Cinema zoom and prime lenses, the company will support the diverse imaging creation needs of the motion-picture and other digital high-resolution production industries, contributing to further expanding the possibilities in visual expression and the development of cinematic culture.

Canon will be displaying the two new fixed-focal-length lenses during the U.S. Sundance Film Festival, one of the largest independent film festivals in the world, which will be held in Park City, Utah, from January 17 to 27, 2013.

The Canon CN-E14mm T3.1 L F and Canon CN-E135mm T2.2 L F will be available in Australia from mid April and late May, respectively, with pricing set at dealer discretion.

Star Wars: The Old Republic’s new planet segregates gay characters

“Makeb”: Star Wars for “gay planet”.

An online role-playing game set in the Star Wars universe has added same-sex relationships, but only to players that visit Makeb, the contentious new downloadable planet that has split the game’s community.

Bioware, developer of Star Wars: The Old Republic, revealed the new planet in a blog post, where executive producer Jeff Hickman apologised for the update taking so long, iterating that allowing same gender romance is something the developer is “very supportive of”.

Another of Bioware’s games, Mass Effect, allows user-created players to engage in same-sex relationships without the need for a game add-on.

The planet, which is available in the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion pack, has been labelled “regressive” by PC Games N for its segregation of same-sex relationships to a single planet.

The addition has also been criticised by fans of the game on the developer’s official website, with some players suggesting it’s “not a high priority”.

“I understand this is something that was ‘promised’, but why do we even need it in this game? Go play Mass Effect if you want that. I don’t think it belongs in Star Wars,” said forum poster Wrthlessnoob.

“Same gender romance arcs” (SGRA) have been requested by Star Wars: The Old Republic players for a while, and some players were happy to see the addition.

“Huge thanks for the update regarding SGRAs. It’s a start. Very interested to see how far it goes,” said Kioma.

Makeb will be available in the Rise of the Hutt Cartel downloadable pack, which will be released in autumn 2013.

3. Don’t do public displays of affection. When you meet them at the airport and you spot them in arrivals, avoid shouting their name and showering them with kisses. It’s just not cool.

4. If your friends are round, don’t call your child into the room to introduce them and make a spectacle of them, trying to explain what it is they do for a living when you don’t really understand yourself!

5. Don’t add your child as a friend on Facebook and leave notes of motherly affection on their wall or comment on their photos for all to see.  They really won’t thank you for it.
