SYDNEY 22ND February –  The first two episodes of Guide to Survival highlighted how an inexperienced Lara Croft must use her intellect and whatever she can scavenge to survive the harsh conditions of Yamatai. In this final episode we dig deep into Lara’s scrappy and raw approach to combat.

The elements aren’t the only thing after Lara on the island – predators come in both two and four-legged varieties. Lara’s unlocked skills and weapon upgrades culminate in her combat style, executed in both close-quarters and frenzied firefights.

Outnumbered and outgunned, stealth is frequently Lara’s strongest advantage. Approaching enemies undetected will allow her to pull of silent kills and keep fellow Solarii in the dark. The environment will also provide frequent opportunities for Lara to gain the upper hand. She must always be prepared to brawl up close, however, aided by dodge and counter moves and improved equipment. With wits and weapons combined, Lara is a smart and ultimately very dangerous fighter.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Home entertainment release announced for May 1st

From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM), will get its home entertainment release in Australia and New Zealand , on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital download May 1st from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

The first of a trilogy of films adapted from the enduringly popular J.R.R. Tolkien masterpiece, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which is nominated for three Academy Awards, is an epic adventure that immerses audiences once again in the fantastical world of Middle-earth.

Set 60 years before The Lord of the Rings, the adventure follows our hero Bilbo Baggins, the eponymous Hobbit, who is reluctantly swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome Dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the Wizard Gandalf, Bilbo finds himself press ganged into the company of thirteen Dwarves led by the legendary warrior Thorin Oakenshield and on a journey into the wild. Together they must traverse troll infested forests and goblin lairs, hunted by a merciless white Orc and haunted by a mysterious and sinister figure known only as The Necromancer.

WILL WRIGHT INTERVIEWS CREATIVE DIRECTOR OCEAN QUIGLEY ABOUT SIMCITY

The SimCity team opened up its doors to a very special guest this past week, SimCity series creator and industry luminary Will Wright. During his stay, he had the chance to poke, prod and tinker with the latest iteration of the franchise that he created over 24 years ago and to catch up with some of his old colleagues at the Maxis studio.

As part of his visit, Will sat down with Ocean Quigley, Creative Director of SimCity, to talk about the history of SimCity and the ways he was pleasantly surprised to see this new SimCity evolve his visions for the franchise.
