The Walking Dead: 400 Days plus watch Lee & Clementine play TWD LIVE!

As we near the launch of The Walking Dead: 400 Days, the new DLC episode for Season One of The Walking Dead, we would like to share a special episode of our ongoing web-series, ‘Playing Dead.’ 

In today’s episode, host A.J. LoCascio sits down with developers Sean Ainsworth and Harrison Pink to hear details about the upcoming DLC that gives players an anthology of five short stories set during the first 400 Days of the undead outbreak.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days is set to release very soon in early July, and Telltale expects to have confirmed release dates across all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, PC/Mac, & iOS) as soon as possible.

Terminator Reboot scheduled for 2015 with Arnold Schwarzenegger

Skydance Productions, Annapurna Pictures and Paramount Pictures have jointly announced they will partner on a rebooted “TERMINATOR” movie, to be released by Paramount Pictures on June 26, 2015.

The first in a stand-alone trilogy, “TERMINATOR” will be produced by Megan Ellison of Annapurna and David Ellison of Skydance. Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake of Skydance will serve as executive producers. Laeta Kalorgridis (“Avatar,” “Shutter Island”) and Patrick Lussier (“Drive Angry”) are attached to write the screenplay.

Launched in 1984 with star Arnold Schwarzenegger as the title character, “TERMINATOR” spanned 3 subsequent films, which have earned over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

David Ellison most recently executive produced, along with his partners at Paramount, “World War Z,” “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”. A 5th installment of in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise is in active development, along with a 3rd film in the “G.I. Joe” franchise, among other films.

Megan Ellison most recently produced the Academy Award®-nominated “Zero Dark Thirty,” “The Master” and executive produced “Spring Breakers” via her Annapurna Pictures banner and has David O. Russell’s “American Hustle,” Spike Jonze’s “Her,” and Bennett Miller’s “Foxcatcher” set for release later this year.

Atmospheric PC Adventure Game Face Noir Will Release In English on July 18

Collaboration from indie developers Mad Orange and Phoenix Online Studios can be preordered at FaceNoirGame.com

SAN JOSE, Calif. – June 27, 2013 – Indie adventure game developer Phoenix Online Studios is announcing their next release, Face Noir, is now available for $15.99 preorder from FaceNoirGame.com. A noir mystery game set in New York City during the Great Depression, Face Noir will release for PC download on July 18, 2013. The preorder deal includes a 20% discount over the regular $19.99 price and a free MP3 soundtrack.

A moody tale that combines the intrigue and atmosphere of a Raymond Chandler novel or Humphrey Bogart film with classic point-and-click adventure gameplay, Face Noir follows private eye Jack del Nero as he’s falsely accused of murdering the man who left a little girl in his protection. As Jack tries to figure out who she is and clear his name, the disillusioned detective finds himself up against a city infested with corruption and economic uncertainty. And he discovers more about human nature than he ever wanted to know along the way.

Developed by Italian indie studio Mad Orange, Face Noir released in Italy and Germany in 2012. Phoenix Online Studios, the team responsible for episodic adventure games The Silver Lining and Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, teamed up with Mad Orange to provide full English localization as well as additional programming support. Based on player feedback, this new version has had its user interface updated, pixel hunts eliminated, and some puzzles tweaked.

The Face Noir preorder joins several third-party games on Phoenix Online’s store as the company pursues its goal of creating a hub for indie adventures. FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN

BETA PHASE 3 CONTINUES FROM TODAY ON PS3 & PC

Sydney 28th June – Square Enix today announced that FINAL FANTASY® XIV: A Realm Reborn™ Beta phase 3 will continue this weekend on both PlayStation®3 and PC, starting later this evening.

Timings for the third weekend of Beta phase 3 are as follows:

Friday June 28, 7:00 p.m.  => Sunday June 30, 7:00 p.m. (AEST Time)

Friday June 28, 9:00 p.m.  => Sunday June 30, 9:00 p.m. (NZST Time)

Beta phase 3 is running across weekends through June and into July, and brings to life a huge FINAL FANTASY world, full of Moogles, Chocobos and the deep, engrossing storylines that players have come to expect from the series.

AUSSIES HELP SET NEW GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR E-WASTE COLLECTION

Friday, 28 June: At an e-waste future forum hosted by TechCollect this morning, TechCollect announced that Australians have played a significant role in setting a new Guinness World Record of the most e-waste ever collected for recycling in one week.

Australians participated in the week-long campaign in late April this year which saw over 474 tonnes in old TVs, computers and printers collected for recycling by TechCollect across Australia.

“The amount collected is the equivalent of over 4 blue whales in weight, which is a lot of e-waste, and we commend the community, our collection partners and recyclers for their support”, said Carmel Dollisson, CEO of TechCollect.

“Setting a World Record for the most consumer electronics collected for recycling in one week is a wonderful outcome in the first year of the National Television and Computers Recycling Scheme (NTCRS), it has increased the awareness of the community on the ease and benefits of recycling”, added Dollisson.

“We saw Australians clean out their homes, de-clutter their lives and ensure that all of that old, unwanted and unused e-waste didn’t end up in landfill – which is a great outcome for the environment,” commented Dollisson.

Many Australians do not realise that over 90% of old TVs, printers and computers can be recycled and made into new items, “This Guinness World Record will help to increase the number of Australians who are aware that they can recycle their e-waste for free,” commented Dollisson.

Up to last year, only 10 – 17% of Australians’ e-waste was being recycled, and approximately 16.8 million TVs, computers, printers and their accessories were disposed of each year. The new scheme will increase e-waste recycling to 30% this year, and seeks to increase this to 80% over the next 10 years.

“The e-waste problem in Australia is growing rapidly with 181,000 tonnes of TVs and computers expected to reach the end of their useful life by 2027/28.

TechCollect is funded by over 60 of Australia’s leading technology companies who are committed to recycling responsibly, these companies fund the recycling which is why it is a free recycling service for households and small businesses.

There are over 70 permanent TechCollect recycling sites across Australia, which are open year round and run in partnership with local councils and waste management companies.

“Just because the Guinness World Record attempt is over doesn’t mean you can’t recycle for free – just jump online and find out where the nearest TechCollect drop-off centre is located near you.” concluded Dollisson.
