Wargame Airland Battle – The dynamic campaign explained

Last week, Wargame AirLand Battle’s dynamic campaign was unveiled through a series of screenshots. Today, a new video presents the spectacular real-time strategy game’s innovative campaign mode.

Narrated by Cédric Le Dressay, CEO of Eugen Systems, this video explains in two minutes all there is to know about the fascinating, dynamic campaign of Wargame AirLand Battle. The video lets us discover all the original game mechanics of this innovative game mode, which would-be generals will get to experience for the first time next week, be it solo or in multiplayer against another player!

You will first handle in this campaign your army and your battle groups, on a huge strategic map representing Europe: ordering movements, asking for reinforcements, but also launching support strikes such as intelligence missions, special forces strikes, satellite spying, bombardment, tactical nuclear attacks, etc…

When a zone is under attack and you need to defend it, or when you send your own battle groups to assault, you are thrown at the heart of the spectacular battles happening in real-time. Your army is persistent all along the campaign: your units and battle groups will earn experience, making them perform better with every battle they survive…. but keep in mind losses are definitive as well!

Only a few more days before a new worldwide conflict begins! Wargame AirLand Battle will be available for PC on May 30th.

AUSSIES KEEP MOVING WITH OLD MOBILES

Australians who moved house in the last five years have moved an estimated 5.7 million old mobiles* with them according to MobileMuster, Australia’s leading not-for-profit mobile phone recycler.

A new report** commissioned by MobileMuster on moving home habits leading up to World Environment Day (June 5), has found that Australians keep taking their old mobiles, batteries and chargers with them each time they move, rather than recycling them.

“The amount of old mobiles that Australians are moving with them each year is astounding, with six of out ten people saying they found old mobiles, chargers, batteries, TVs, computers, printers and white goods lying around home last time they moved” commented Rose Read, Recycling Manager for MobileMuster.

“By weight this includes at least 65 tonnes of plastics and 48 tonnes of copper*** in mobile phones that could be reused, not to mention the steel, precious metals and other elements found in mobiles and chargers that are fully recyclable ” added Read.

Released today, the report into Australians attitudes to moving house also found that:
• Old mobiles, chargers and batteries were one of the top three items (35%) not being used or needed anymore that Australians moved with them
• The other top three items were old files, bills and paperwork (59%) and clothing (49%)
• Nearly a third of (29%) Aussies said their biggest concerns about moving were:
o Cleaning and packing-up
o Moving with items that are not needed or used anymore
o Getting rid of unwanted items

As to why people are moving items they no longer use nearly a quarter (21%) said they thought it was easier to move with these items then get rid of them.

Alarmingly one in ten (13%) Aussies said they would throw away their old electronic items and over a third (36%) of these respondents said they would throw these items into their bin.

“Australians love their technology, but they seem very reluctant, or don’t know how easy it is, to recycle their unused mobiles safely and securely with MobileMuster rather then moving them from house to house cluttering up their lives,” commented Read.

This World Environment Day (5 June) the mobile phone industry is calling on all those people who have just moved or planning to move to help keep old mobiles out of landfill by recycling their old mobiles and accessories with MobileMuster rather than moving with them or worse still throwing them in the bin.

“With over 4,000 conveniently located and free drop off points around Australia including Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Virgin Mobile retail outlets, Officeworks, Battery World stores and many local councils, there is no excuse,” added Read.

“Alternatively, you can post them in to MobileMuster for free using a postage paid recycling satchel available from your local Australia Post outlet, just go to mobilemuster.com.au to find your nearest drop off point or Australia post outlet”.

THE HANGOVER PART III tops Australian box office on opening weekend – Press Release

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

“Box office results show that Australians are not quite over their Hangover, with the third and final instalment of the film claiming the number one spot on its opening weekend.

Director Todd Phillips’ conclusion to the three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions grossed approximately $8.9 million on 496 screens across Australia from Thursday to Sunday to be the biggest opening weekend for a comedy in 2013. It is also the year’s second highest opening weekend behind Iron Man 3 (3D).

The first two films of the record-breaking comedy franchise earned $54 million in Australia and just over $1 billion internationally.

‘Australians have always been known for their wild sense of humour and with results like this it is clear that we are not ready for the party to be over,’ said Roadshow Films Director of Marketing Phil Oneile.”
