BRISBANE, Queensland– Nov. 23, 2010—EB Games, Australia’s largest video game and entertainment software retailer, today announced that for the first time ever, customers can trade their toy cars towards their purchase of Gran Turismo 5.
In what is believed to be a first for Australian retail, EB Games will be offering customers the opportunity to trade in their toy cars towards their purchase of a video game. This very special offer will be valid for 1 day only, Thursday the 25th November to coincide with the much anticipated launch of Gran Turismo 5.
When asked the motivation behind this unique offer, EB Games National Brand & Marketing Manager Debra McGrath replied “We are all extremely excited about the release this Thursday of GT5. This game has been over 5 years in the making and will revolutionise racing games as we know them. So in order to celebrate, we wanted to do something different that was fun, easy and allowed all customers to get involved”.
Debra continued “I think you would be hard pressed to find many people that don’t have at least one toy car hanging around not being used. These can now be put to good use- not only will customers save on the cost of their game- they will also be helping out a good cause, with all cars traded going to local charities.”
EB Games will be offering 50c per toy car that is traded in towards the purchase of Gran Turismo 5 on Thursday 25th November. Customers can trade a maximum of 20 cars. All cars traded will be donated to local charities to help with their Christmas fundraising efforts.
