iPad power, anytime, anywhere with portable gorilla-pad charger
Powertraveller’s gorilla-pad connector enables iPad charging on-the-move with the gorilla family of portable power to double iPad battery life
SYDNEY, Aust. — 15 November, 2010 —Powertraveller today announced the availability of the Powertraveller gorilla-pad, a connector that allows iPad owners to charge their iPads anywhere, anytime, using the gorilla range of portable chargers – removing the need to connect to a wall socket or traditional power supply.
gorilla-pad connects to any of the convenient minigorilla, powergorilla and award-winning solargorilla portable chargers from Powertraveller, and uses a resistor ID to convert different input voltage and currents into the standard settings required by the iPad, giving users the freedom to enjoy their iPad no matter how remote their location.
Powertraveller’s gorilla chargers keep everything from mobile phones to laptops powered in some of the world’s most isolated areas, whether you’re there for recreation or business. The iPad requires a power supply of 5volts at 2.1amps to be charged, unlike the standard supply of 5volts at 1amp. The gorilla-pad connector solves this problem by auto-sensing the voltage and power being supplied to the iPad and reduces the parameters to the correct setting, enabling the efficient charging of your iPad.
“The iPad is truly freeing business users from their desks while consumers are finding a multitude of reasons to take their iPad with them wherever they go. The only problem is that users have been limited in where they can take their iPad, and how long for, by its battery life,” said Gavin Troxler, Product and Marketing Director of Simms International, distributor of Powertraveller products in Australia. “Combining the new gorilla-pad with any of Powertraveller’s gorilla chargers provides the freedom and peace of mind so users won’t have to worry about running out of power when they can least afford to, no matter where they are.”
The compact gorilla-pad connector measures only 50 x 35 x 16mm and weighs just 65grams. Combined with the minigorilla it can give a minimum of one .days charge to the iPad.
