Hachette Australia today makes its ebooks available on Apple’s iBookstore in Australia. iBookstore is included in the free iBooks app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
Hachette is Australia’s second largest publisher, and publishes a very wide range of books under numerous imprints, including Hodder & Stoughton, Orion, Little,Brown, Headline, Atom, Virago, Abacus, Weidenfeld & Nicholson, Orbit, and Gollancz, including its Australian and New Zealand imprints, Hachette Australia and Hodder Moa.
Books, from all of these imprints, and others, will be available from the iBookstore on, or shortly after, launch date, and will include the works of such bestselling authors as: Maeve Binchy, Patricia Cornwell, Justin Cronin, Peter Fitzsimons, Charlaine Harris, Barry Humphries, Stephen King, Hugh Mackay, Alexander McCall Smith, William McInnes, Stephenie Meyer, David Mitchell, Sir Michael Parkinson, and Jessica Watson.
In future, all newly published books will be available simultaneously with the publication of their printed equivalent, and Hachette will progressively add more previously published titles, as they go through the process of digitisation.
