NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC: GREAT MIGRATIONS AN AWE-INSPIRING CHRONICLE OF LIFE ON THE MOVE

MELBOURNE, Wednesday 29 September 2010: Madman is proud to announce the DVD and Blu-ray release of National Geographic’s groundbreaking global miniseries event – GREAT MIGRATIONS. Available 1 December 2010 (DVD $39.95RRP, Blu-ray $54.95RRP).

Shot wholly in high-definition, over three years, this landmark series chronicles the inspirational, often harrowing, migrations of animals across earth’s seven continents. Wildebeests, zebras, red crabs, elephants, kob, walruses, monarch butterflies, jellyfish and whale sharks are all the focus of a crew that travelled some 670,000 kilometres, filming hundreds of stories in more than 20 different countries.

Using breakthrough filming technologies, the National Geographic team has been able to capture never-before seen animal behaviour and discover scientific firsts, including Bull Elephants scouting migrations routes and the rediscovery of the epic kob migration in Sudan.

Developed from hundreds of hours of footage, the DVD and Blu-ray both feature six one hour episodes including;
