INTO THE STORM IN STORES 1 DECEMBER 2010 FOR $39.95RRP

DVD Features Bonus Materials on the Intriguing and Legendary British Leader Winston Churchill and an Inside Look at the Making of Into The Storm

Intrepid, magnetic and inspirational, Winston Churchill played perhaps the single most important role in thwarting the Nazis during World War II. Set in the backdrop of the war, INTO THE STORM offers an intimate look at the unwavering and commanding leader in a powerful follow-up to the Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning film The Gathering Storm from HBO®. Out in stores 1 December, 2010, and just in time for the holidays, the DVD includes an audio commentary with the film’s producer and writer as well as a behind-the-scenes featurette.

Following the Allies’ success, Britain went to the polls in 1945 to decide their post-war prime minister and ruling party, taking more than a week to tally all the votes. Using those days as a framework for the story, INTO THE STORM begins as Churchill is on holiday awaiting his fate and reminiscing about the war years, when he guided his beleaguered nation through one of its most difficult and challenging periods. A fascinating and complicated man who also had his flaws, INTO THE STORM shows how Churchill’s prowess as a great wartime hero ultimately undermined his political career and threatened his marriage to his wife and lifelong supporter, Clementine.

Starring Brendon Gleeson, who garnered an Emmy® for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his role as Churchill, the film also features Janet McTeer (Academy Award® nominee and Golden Globe® winner for Tumbleweeds) as Clemmie Churchill and Len Cariou (Tony Award® winner for Sweeney Todd) as President Franklin Delano Roosevelt as well as James D’Arcy and Ian Glen. INTO THE STORM was directed by Thaddeus O’Sullivan (Proof 2) and written by Hugh Whitemore (WGA and Emmy® winner for The Gathering Storm). Executive producers are Ridley Scott (Oscar® for Gladiator), Tony Scott (Man on Fire), David W. Zucker (Numb3rs) and David M. Thompson (Elizabeth 1).
