Australia takes third place in regional Seagate Precious Memories competition
Australian journalist John Westwood has won third place in the video category of the 2010 Seagate Precious Memories regional competition for journalists and bloggers. Westwood’s video “I guess it’s up to us” is a poignant composition about the future sustainability of Australia’s environment. Westwood had previously won second place in the video category of the 2008 Seagate Precious Memories regional competition.
Malaysia dominated the 2010 Precious Memories competition overall, securing three awards across the photo and video categories while Taiwan and China shared the remaining two places.
The Seagate Precious Memories competition invited entrants from nine Asia Pacific countries to capture precious moments from their lives, highlighting the importance of storage back-up for protecting their memories. The regional phase of the competition included 49 winning entries drawn from individual country Precious Memories competitions conducted in July. Regional judges included celebrities, videographers, photographers and representatives of Seagate International.
