MELBOURNE – Wednesday 21 July, 2010 – It might be cold outside, but the Game Developers’ Association of Australia today announced that it’s following the sun again this year, with the annual Game Connect Asia Pacific event scheduled to head to the Gold Coast in October.
Game Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP 2010) will focus on the key theme ‘The Player Experience’ and explore the world of video games from the eyes of the game player.
“We’ve set the bar extremely high for GCAP and we’re dedicated to ensuring that this year’s event reaches a whole new level in networking, collaboration, industry insight and development. It’s great to have the support of the Queensland Government who have joined us again as a major event sponsor,” commented Antony Reed, CEO of the Game Developers’ Association of Australia.
“We wanted to explore the world of games through the eyes of the game player, because when it comes down to it, they’re why games are made and who they’re made for. The journey begins with the announcement of a game through to the enormous communities that can develop around a title,” he added.
“I’m sure that this year’s theme will no doubt inspire all sorts of interesting insights and industry commentary and will also lend itself to some great results in the hands-on workshops.”
GCAP 2010 will be held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre on Thursday 13 October and Friday 14 October, 2010.
All keynotes, sessions and workshops will focus on various aspects of the overall player experience.
“It’s important that we use the GCAP platform to showcase the innovation and opportunity that our region can offer, while at the same time challenging and inspiring the future development of the games industry. Get set for an epic GCAP 2010,” he added.
