Rastafarians, dodgy art dealers and a helicopter made from Da vinci’s most inspired pieces; it can only mean one thing, Landit Bandit, the genre-defining semicasual-retro-helicopter-adventure game is nearly here!
Hull, UK – June 21st, 2010 – Swedish-based independent games developer, The Bearded Ladies, let slip another tantalising developers diary for their soon to be released, retro-inspired helicopter-adventure game.
From the 23rd of June, players will take control of the laid-back islander, Marley in this retro-inspired, helicopter-adventure game on the PlayStation®3 Network.
Compete for the high-score on the global leaderboard or battle head to head in 6 unique duels or work co-operatively across the 20 level campaign ranging from the picturesque desert islands to the cool, ice-filled tundra with enough humour to keep you laughing from one level to the next.
The latest developers diary features the origins of The Bearded Ladies and how digital downloads have opened the doors for indie developers. David Skarin, CTO of The Bearded Ladies explains, “It started on a train to Bergen in Norway where me and Haraldur were getting drunk and decided we’re not exactly where we want to be, so let’s get to where we want to be”.
“When we first started out we were really afraid of being trampled by the giants with regards to Sony, but as it turns out, they’re really great to work with.”
CEO/Producer, Haraldur Thormundsson elaborates on the benefits of the digital download market to indie developers, “We knew digital downloads, the portals like Sony Store, Steam and GamersGate are actually fantastic platforms for small indie companies to produce and publish their own games. Because of those portals we are able to communicate through them to a huge audience and communicate directly with players all across the world. Sony does rock, there is no question about it”.
