LIVING WITH THE ENEMY

This is the story of the years between the end of World War II and the founding of the two German states: 1945 to 1949, which proved to be a decisive period for both Germany and the occupying forces.

Combining carefully selected eyewitness accounts from occupiers and occupied alike, the series creates a new and differentiated view of the time and shows that these years not only helped shape present-day Germany, but also had a profound effect on the rest of the world.

RUDOLF NUREYEV – A BRILLIANT LIFE

Born on the Trans-Siberian express train, Rudolf Nureyev never stopped moving in his meteoric rise to become the most brightly shining star of the ballet universe. From commanding the stage of the Paris Opera to cavorting with Miss Piggy on The Muppet Show, Nureyev’s charisma and virtuoso talent brought a new, modern dimension to classical dance.

Fifteen years after his life was prematurely claimed by AIDS, we take a retrospective look at the great artist, his life and his body of work – in all its grace, passion, excess and drama. Through interviews, archive footage, re-enactments and original dance sequences, the film will recreate the key moments of Nureyev’s life and shine a light on his unparalleled talent.

SNOW WHITE

After the wonderful ELDORADO (Sonntags Abschied), Angelin Preljocaj presents to us a contemporary and romantic adaptation of one of the world’s most famous fairy tales – SNOW WHITE.

Faithful to a tradition of audacious collaborations, this time, Angelin Preljocaj has called upon the talents of Jean-Paul GAULTIER to create
the stage costumes for all 26 dancers of the Preljocaj Ballet Company. Preljocaj’s SNOW WHITE won the 2009 Crystal Globe Award for the best dance performance, and is set to the famous symphonies of Gustav Mahler.

CORNER GAS – SERIES 3 (2-DVD Set)

Popular Canadian comedian Brent Butt returns to small town Saskatchewan, Canada to portray the life he would have led had he gotten a real job – pumping gas at Corner Gas. Each episode of Corner Gas delivers a half-hour of comedic voyeurism in a place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. The series is set in the fictional town of Dog River, and focuses on the life (or lack thereof) of gas station owner Brent LeRoy, coffee shop proprietor Lacey Burrows and the folks who populate the area.
