Keeping Businesses Safe from Threats is AVG (AU/NZ)’s Theme At CeBIT

AVG (AU/NZ) focuses on business security solutions at CeBIT Australia 2010

Melbourne, 12 May 2010.  AVG (AU/NZ) Pty Ltd will be showcasing the award-winning ‘AVG at Work’ range of security solutions for SMB, government, education and enterprise networks at the upcoming CeBIT Australia 2010 exhibition, the most influential event of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Our ‘AVG at Work’ focus is all about keeping business safe from threats by simply getting it done for them,” said Lloyd Borrett, Marketing Manager at AVG (AU/NZ). “We let people focus on their business, while we focus on protecting it.”

A team of AVG (AU/NZ) cyber security experts will be on stand K10 throughout CeBIT to talk about how businesses can protect themselves from the malware, identity theft and spam attacks used by cyber criminals, as well as protecting staff who use social media sites.

Web surfing and social networking by staff while at work is one of the growing, frontline issues for business security.

Borrett explained,“Blocking social networks is no longer feasible – they’re an integral part of sales, marketing, communications and recruitment programs in many companies today. A more equitable solution can be found in technologies like AVG LinkScanner® which checks web pages for security risks, before allowing the page to be seen in the user’s browser.”

AVG (AU/NZ) will be demonstrating the powerhouse AVG Internet Security Business Edition 9.0 solution (which includes LinkScanner) for protecting business workstations, file and e-mail servers, as used across the world by businesses from 5 to 1000s of networked systems.

“AVG (AU/NZ) is a regular exhibitor at CeBIT Australia,” said Borrett. “CeBIT’s a great environment for business people to see our latest security functionality in action, to quiz us on what’s happening in the security industry and find out how we’ll be taking the fight up to the bad guys in the year ahead.

“We keep coming back because CeBIT exposes our products to businesses and resellers we wouldn’t meet otherwise and gives us a great opportunity to start a relationship with them. As part of our new competitive push into the business market, CeBIT provides us with an opportunity to initiate relationships with new channel partners,” Borrett said.

AVG is widely known for the multi award winning AVG Anti-Virus Free product used by millions of Australian home users.

“As well as the AVG at Work range of business security solutions, we have free and paid consumer products,” Borrett explained. “Our protection is designed around the things people love to do online, like shopping, banking and gaming; downloading music, photos and videos; chatting with friends and using Facebook and Twitter. We’ll be at CeBIT to guide people towards the right choice in order for them to stay safe online.”

CeBIT Australia will run from 24-26 May 2010 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour. See AVG at stand K10. You can visit www.mycebit.com.au for free exhibition registration, using promo code: avgtca10
