The ideal surveillance application for easy DIY security

Sydney, Australia – 13 April 2010: Edimax, a company dedicated to the design, development, and manufacture of leading networking solutions, in association with Genius Computer Technology, today unleashed a new mode of surveillance application in the Do It Yourself (DIY) segment.

The Edimax eCam provides an ideal surveillance application you can access through your iPod Touch, iPhone (OS 2.2 or later), iPhone 3G or iPad for DIY security. The Edimax eCam surveillance camera allows you to view your home, office or warehouse in real-time anywhere, anytime using the app which is available at http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/ecam/id324658317?mt=8.

“We’ve received a lot of positive feedback on the Edimax eCam range, especially from small business owners because of its affordability and ease of use. The eCams offer customers the latest technology at the most competitive pricing and that’s something we’ve been pretty excited about” said Greg Jan, Managing Director of Edimax Australia.

The simple set up and application of the Edimax eCam makes it convenient for home or business owners that may not be technology savvy and helps save on additional costs by eliminating the need for a technician to set it all up. Customers need only connect the Edimax Camera to their network environment, insert their camera name, password and IP address, and place it at the location they would like to view on their iPhone.

The eCam allows you to adjust image frame per second and choose VGA mode or QVGA mode according to your network settings in order to achieve the fastest video transmission. The iPhone app is free to download and by sliding your finger on the screen, you can view, control and monitor remotely a wider range than generic Internet cameras. Edimax IP camera models that support this function are: IC-3010, IC-3010Wg, IC-7000PT (V2), IC-7000PTn (V2). It also supports Edimax IC-7000PT series PT function.

Edimax has worked hard to deliver a reliable and highly innovative surveillance technology and all at the fraction of the cost of other surveillance systems. Edimax eCams are modestly priced and backed by Edimax’s three year warranty.
