How to Train Your Dragon: An IMAX 3D Experience tells the story of Hiccup, a Viking teenager who doesn’t exactly fit in with his tribe’s longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. Hiccup’s world is turned upside down when he encounters a dragon that challenges Hiccup and his fellow Vikings to see the world from an entirely different point of view. The cast includes Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, America Ferrara, Jonah Hill and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Alice in Wonderland: An IMAX 3D Experience

Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D
Nine-time world champion surfer, Kelly Slater, and his big wave companion, Raimana Van Bastolaer will star in the first ever extreme surfing IMAX 3D movie. Scheduled for release at IMAX Melbourne Museum on 20 February, 2010, Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D was primarily shot in the Tahitian big wave environment known to watermen around the world as Teahupoo. Directed by award-winning director Stephen Low and his team of in-water and airborne cameramen, Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D captures the incredible power, majesty and danger of the most treacherous ocean waves in the world. With a reputation as the greatest surfer of all time, Slater showcases his surfing talent and flair on the giant IMAX 3D screen as he teams up with local legend Van Bastolaer to take on Teahupoo.

Titanic 3D: Ghosts of the Abyss
Academy Award-winning director and master storyteller James Cameron takes moviegoers back to his greatest inspiration – the legendary wreck of the Titanic. Titanic 3D: Ghosts of the Abyss returns to the world’s third largest screen this winter school holidays to coincide with the new Melbourne Museum blockbuster exhibition –Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition, opening on 14 May, 2010. Titanic 3D: Ghosts of the Abyss provided a unique training ground for Cameron to learn the 3D filming techniques that he later applied to the highest grossing motion picture of all time, Avatar. With a team of the world’s foremost historic and marine experts and friend Bill Paxton, Cameron embarks on an unscripted adventure to the watery grave where over 1,500 souls lost their lives almost a century ago. Using state-of-the-art technology developed expressly for this expedition, Cameron and his crew are able to explore both inside and outside the wreck of the Titanic. With advanced 3D photography, moviegoers experience the ship as if they are part of the dive team, travelling deep below the surface of the ocean and far inside the ghostly shipwreck. Made especially for IMAX 3D theatres, Cameron and his team reveal the ship as it has not been seen since the sinking almost one hundred years ago, and explore why the legendary vessel – more than any other shipwreck – continues to intrigue and fascinate the public.
