The ultimate virtual pet – just in time for Christmas
SYDNEY, 26 October 2009 – This Thursday, 29 October, marks the launch of EyePet™, the responsive virtual pet coming to family homes across the country exclusively on PlayStation®3 (PS3™).
A loveable, simian-like pet, EyePet lives in an on-screen picture of your living room captured by PlayStation®Eye, the next-generation camera for PS3. Working in ‘augmented reality’, EyePet is fully aware of people in the room and will interact with you and your environment. But best of all, it won’t mess on the floor or claw at the curtains!
EyePet brings fun and magic into the family home; plus it’s pretty cute as well! With an impressive array of abilities, EyePet will respond to your every move. Place an object in front of the camera that EyePet hasn’t seen before and it’ll know exactly what to do with it, give it something new and it’ll examine it thoroughly. Tickle it by waving your fingers in front of the camera: it laughs, poke it: it jumps, roll it a ball: EyePet chases around the screen after it.
An incredibly lifelike little creature, EyePet gives you all the lovable benefits and interaction of a real-life pet, without tearing up your sofa or making a mess on the rug. The kids will love customising it with over 250 unique collectibles, dressing it and watching its facial expressions that range from the sweet, to the cheeky, to the hilarious. Watch toys that you draw for EyePet come alive on screen! Draw a car, aeroplane or balloons and watch as they materialise and EyePet plays with them in your very own living room. Mini challenges and games build the bond between you and EyePet as your furry little friend gets to know you and your family.
With four unique stages of evolution and growth, EyePet needs love, care, food and plenty of mischief to grow up big and strong. Mum, Dad, grandparents, kids – everyone will want to be a part of EyePet’s life as this cute little critter steals your heart and brings magic into your home.
EyePet will be available in stores across Australia from Thursday 29 October, 2009.
