Returning for its sixth season, Mad Men Season 6 explores the glamourous and ego-driven “Golden Age” of advertising in late-1960s New York City. The only television series in cable history to win the Emmy® for Outstanding Drama Series four years in a row, Mad Men continues to be the most Emmy® nominated drama series on television with a total of 97 nominations.
Don Draper (Golden Globe® winner Jon Hamm), and the rest of the award-winning cast continue to captivate in Mad Men Season 6, as they deal with the aftereffects of adultery, divorce, a merger and an ever-changing social climate.
From writer and executive producer Matthew Weiner, the eagerly awaited sixth season follows the scandal and devastation that plagued the partners of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce at the end of Season 5. In this season, Don and his fellow partners continue to juggle their personal and professional lives in a world of temptation and greed, while Peggy and Megan are up for an ad award. The season is very much focussed around a core decision for Don – continue his descent into his own private inferno or re-discover his authentic self and get a second chance.
The assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy also play into the sixth season, further heightening the themes of racism, alienation and ruthlessness that heavily underpinned American society and culture in the sixties.
