For those who like their mobile gaming a little deeper and a little less polluted, TownCraft is out now.
TownCraft is a crafting and city-builder hybrid with no microtransactions whatsoever.
It was created in Sydney, Australia, by brothers Rohan Harris and Leigh Harris, and was the #2 paid iPad app in the country within weeks of its local launch.*
The Sydney Morning Herald calls it “addictive and fun”, while Australian Game Informer said it “could approach ‘next big thing’ status”, and it received a slew of positive reviews when it came out in Australia this July.**
“People seem to really like the stripped back and ‘pure’ nature of the game” says Leigh Harris, Lead Designer, “We created a game which would allow the player to sink into it without distraction, and the response has been great!”
“The reception here in Australia was huge,” adds Rohan Harris, Lead Programmer. “I can’t say I’d ever considered that I might be seeing our first videogame in the Top Ten Charts on the App Store. It still kind of blows me away!”
TownCraft is available now from the App Store for iPad 2 and up, and iPad Minis for USD$4.99 . An iPhone version is coming soon.
