Sydney, 5 September, 2013 – Panasonic has announced the Australian launch of its VIERA 4K Ultra HD TV, with unique and first to market technologies for second generation connectivity and superior image quality.
In a market first, Panasonic’s new 65-inch Ultra HD TV leads the way in future proof connectivity with 4K 50p/60p input, based on HDMI 2.0 and Display Port™ 1.2a[ii] specifications. Even 4K 50p/60p native sources can be input with a single cable. This new model will support the native 4K output devices and 4K video cameras that will be on the market in the near future.
The TH-L65WT600A LED LCD delivers four times the resolution of current full HDTVs and produces brighter, clearer and highly realistic images for a truly immersive viewing experience.
The 4K Fine Remaster Engine, a database type ultra high-resolution engine created with unique Panasonic technology, renders various types of content – from TV broadcasts to web videos – into highly detailed, high-definition 4K Ultra HD TV images.
“Australians are enthusiastic early adopters of new technology. This second generation TV offers the connectivity to further expand the 4K content that will be available to consumers,” explained Matt Pearce, Group Marketing Manager VIERA, Panasonic Australia.
“With the Fine Remaster Engine able to upscale existing content, 4K Swipe and Share, and our customisable home screen, we’re paving the way for Australians to enjoy the very best home entertainment experience now and in the future.”
The detail offered by Ultra HD TV offers more comfortable viewing seated closer to the panel, allowing more users to enjoy viewing larger screens in their living room. As more 4K Ultra HD TV content becomes available, customers will be poised to take advantage of the amazing clarity and lifelike ambience the TH-L65WT600A delivers.
The TH-L65WT600A also has built in smart features for enhanced ease of use. ‘My Home Screen’ provides instant access to users’ favourite content on a personalised TV screen. Voice interaction functionality allows the user to operate the TV simply by talking to it (via the Touch Pad Controller or their smartphone[iii]). Users can also link a smartphone or tablet device to the TV so content can be shared freely. For example, using the ‘Swipe & Share’[iv] function, still images with 4K Ultra HD TV resolution could be viewed on the large screen.
The TH-L65WT600A VIERA 4K Ultra HD TV will be available in Australia in late October. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.
