Marvel: Avengers Alliance (Facebook Social Game): Marvel has revealed that the newly designed Season 2 will be launching shortly! In Season 2, players will experience a new Chapter Mastery system, providing new missions, bonuses and rewards. Heroic Battles, battles that involve heroes and villains with no agents are also introduced for the first time. These are side missions involving classic matchups such as Wolverine vs. Sabretooth or Cable & Deadpool teaming up for battle. Also revealed were new Incursion events that feature battles against agents and heroes from another reality.

In this season, players will dive further into combat with the nefarious Circle of Eight for the first time. This creepy cult is up to no good, killing off many heroes and villains in the Marvel Gaming Universe, and it is up the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to stop their latest nefarious scheme.

A brand new Spec Op mission, featuring the characters from the “Dark Reign” storyline, was also unveiled. In this mission a massive industrial accident has caused the World Security Council to consider overruling S.H.I.E.L.D.’s defense mandate. Dell Rusk has assembled a team of Dark Avengers including Yelena Belova, Bullseye, Ragnarok, Daken, and Venom to destroy the Heroes. If players are able to put a stop to the scheme they will earn the mighty Ares as a playable character.

During the panel it was also revealed that the next PVP character reward will be Bishop while the new PVP Lockbox reward will be Elektra. These characters will accompany a new PVP feature allowing players to set separate teams and weapon sets for PVP and Mission.
