Activities: Around the World to the Middle East
Go around the world to the Middle East and participate in a craft activities, including:
Paper Pals: Use patterned paper from the Middle East to dress your own paper doll, and learn more about the fabrics used in Palestinian clothing.
Coin rubbing: Make a coin rubbing of a Palestinian coin and find out about Palestinian history.
Story telling form Around the World: Be captivated by amazing stories to Australia. Join us during the school holidays and hear heart-warming immigration stories from around the world.
Exhibition: Handing on the key: Palestinians in Australia
For the majority of Palestinians in Australia, there is no lived experience of Palestine. Handing on the Key explores how the link to homeland is passed from one generation to the next through acts of memory. The changing identity of the Palestinian community through generations reveals the different and often emotional connections that Australians of Palestinian heritage have to Palestine.
Immigration Adventures Trail
The Immigration Adventures Trail is available as a self-guided activity for families every day of the school holidays. Collect a booklet and pencil at the front desk and explore the Immigration Museum. Look for objects, explore the replica ship and count how many shoes you can see!
The Immigration Museum offers programs during each school holidays, which bring into focus different cultural groups in accessible ways for children and families. Admission of all exhibitions and activities at the Immigration Museum is free for children.
