Directed by photographer, filmmaker and environmental activist Yann Arthus-Bertrand (Home), edited by Michael Pitot (Tara Oceans) and narrated by Josh Duhamel (Transformers, Life As We Know It), comes new documentary, Planet Ocean, aiming to explain some of the planet’s greatest natural mysteries, while reinforcing how essential it is that mankind learns to live in harmony with our oceans. Planet Ocean serves as a reminder of the bond between humans and nature, and the duty that exists to protect and respect our planet.

Not only produced in partnership with OMEGA, Planet Ocean boasts scientific support from Tara Expeditions and a team of highly skilled photographers, researchers, oceanographers and biologists. Thanks to its astonishing production quality and insight, the film magnificently delivers an unprecedented journey into the heart of the least known regions of our planet. The film combines the kind of breath-taking aerial shots that have made Arthus-Bertrand’s filmmaking reputation, with underwater imagery from an award-winning team of cameramen.

The film narrates the most marvelous and also the most terrifying human experiences of our time. Filmed in extreme geographical conditions all over the globe, it describes the modern Odyssey of people who go out to discover their blue planet.

Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s non-government organisation, Good Planet, also stands behind this documentary in its mission to educate the public and raise awareness of the need to protect the environment.

Planet Ocean is available on DVD from 6 June, 2013—in time for World Oceans Day (8 June) and the launch of OMEGA’s Good Planet Watch (8 June). Arthus-Bertrand also collaborated on a stunning coffee-table book in tandem with the documentary, From Above & Below, which is available from 15 May, 2013
