Haarlem, The Netherlands – 15 January 2013 – Videogames publisher Iceberg Interactive and Croatian game developer Little Green Men announce that they have struck a publishing agreement for Starpoint Gemini 2 (PC). Starpoint Gemini 2, like its predecessor Starpoint Gemini (2011), is an open-world 3D space simulation that combines powerful RPG mechanics with the frenzy of space combat, creating a particular blend that sets itself apart from all other games in the genre.
Mario Mihokovic, CEO at LGM Games says: “Starpoint Gemini 2 takes the best parts of the original game and elevates it to a whole new level. The scale of improvements is truly astonishing and many of them have been introduced as a result of valuable feedback from both players and press.“
Daniel Mihokovic, CTO at LGM Games adds: “We wanted to express our thanks to all fans of Starpoint Gemini. Without them, the creation of this new game wouldn’t be possible. Just like bringing this new gaming experience to fans across the world wouldn’t be possible without our co-operation with Iceberg Interactive. The work Iceberg did on publishing the original title gave us all the answers we needed regarding where to go with publishing the sequel.“
“We were very pleased with the reaction of gamers to Starpoint Gemini. It proved there is a demand in the market for complex games set in space that offer a high level of freedom and longevity of gameplay. Starpoint Gemini 2 uses the same general guidelines, but with modified combat mechanics, full 3D space and greatly improved graphic features“, says Iceberg Interactive CEO Erik Schreuder, adding: “The deal was actually struck a while ago and LGM has been working on the game behind closed doors for some time now, making solid progress. We’re so very excited to bring this much improved second instalment to both existing fans and newcomers to the Gemini universe later this year.“
Iceberg Interactive is aiming to release Starpoint Gemini 2, including in several localized versions (a.o. German), at the end of Q3-2013; both as a boxed retail edition and on worldwide digital platforms.
