Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet 2, the industry’s most advanced enterprise tablet, supports Windows 8 and Windows 8 Professional with additional business features and applications
Sydney, Australia – 9 January, 2013: Lenovo(HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today announced the Australian availability of its premier tablet device designed specifically for business professionals, the ThinkPad Tablet 2. Available at a starting weight of 565 grams, the ThinkPad Tablet 2 is lighter than the leading tablet competitors and is suitable for those constantly on-the-go, providing the highest levels of mobility, performance, and versatility.
“Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet 2 provides a range of business-friendly features aimed at enhancing productivity, mobility and flexibility for professionals. Today’s enterprise customers require tools, not toys. They need a Tablet that runs familiar software and provides standard management capabilities. We’ve ensured that the ThinkPad Tablet 2 delivers on both of these elements and can be configured to the customers’ specific requirements,” said Lindsay Tobin, Product Business Manager, Lenovo ANZ.
“With built-in security and manageability capabilities, the ThinkPad Tablet 2 is the perfect choice for those who require enterprise application and compatibility similar to that of a PC, with the portability and lightness that we’ve come to expect from tablets; we call this a new category of tablet computing.”
Designed for Windows 8 and powered by Intel’s next generation CPU technology, the new multi-use ThinkPad Tablet 2 is capable of providing over ten hours of battery life on a single charge. As well as increased battery life, the Tablet features always-on connectivity which allows users to stay in touch and remain active on social and professional networks with the always-on experience, similar to that of a Smartphone.
Measuring less than 10 millimetres in thickness, the thin and light design of the ThinkPad Tablet 2 takes mobility and efficiency to a new level. The Tablet includes an optional digitiser pen for precision input and productivity on-the-go enabling users to illustrate ideas, annotate documents or take notes during meetings. Users are able to connect to an optional ThinkPad Tablet 2 keyboard and dock for a PC-like computing experience. Users are also equipped with a HDMI connection which supports extended desktop use, meaning the device can truly be used for PC or tablet functionality.
The ThinkPad Tablet 2 offers customers optional 3G wireless enabling connectivity when on-the-go. The ThinkPad Tablet 2 supports a range of IT manageability, security and corporate-level services which assist IT managers to easily deploy and manage the device throughout business environments. This includes Windows security and manageability applications and services such as Active Directory and multi-user log-ons. Share your documents, contacts and pictures easily and quickly by connecting instantaneously to other supported devices using optional Near Field Communication (NFC).
