On Santa’s naughty list? Brisbane creatives offer 2-minute solution to redeem yourself after 366* days of naughtiness
YOU better watch out, you better not cry, JSAcreative and Smoke Creative will tell you why – they’ve created a two minute video to redeem yourself after 366* days of naughtiness.
The two leading creative companies in Brisbane have collaborated on an interactive online video experience for the festive season.
Forget sending e-cards full of smiley elves, sparkly trees and jingles exuding merriment, this video paints an irreverent vision of Christmas featuring seedy hacker elves, contraband candy and shady backstreet deals.
www.badbadchristmas.com.au works on the premise that the user has been placed on Santa’s Naughty List and is seeking removal.
Using Facebook Connect, the user is invited to substitute their place with a friend, setting in action a personalised video piece integrating the user’s selected Facebook friends.
Head of digital at JSAcreative, Darren Walls, said the concept was developed with a desire to take adults back to their childhood while still using an adult frame of reference.
“Everyone remembers the fear of being on Santa’s naughty list as a child and getting nothing on Christmas morning,” Walls said.
“We wanted to draw on the nostalgia of that but also flip it on its head by creating an alternative, tongue-in-cheek underworld where elves are common crims and Santa is more Tony Soprano than Saint Nick.”
Digital agency JSAcreative was responsible for the development of the website and Facebook integration, while video production specialists Smoke Creative scripted, filmed and produced the two minute video.
