Rocksmith DLC updates Oct, Nov 2012
Rocksmith is still going strong, already a little over a year old in the United States and not long ago released across the world. It’s the offering from Ubisoft that manages to bring things to an altogether new level when it comes to melding the fun of a game with the aspects of learning an actual musical instrument. First with any electric guitar, then several months back the release of the Bass expansion.
Ubisoft has ongoing support by way of a slow drip feed of Downloadable content each month.
The last few offerings have been a kaleidoscope of genres, from the indie sounds of folks like Gary Clarks “Bright Lights, and the razor pop catchy sounds from Grace Potter and the Nocturnals in the song “Paris (Ooh La la)” and the catchy tune from The Shins “Caring is Creepy.” And now harder rocked edge sounds from Avenged Seven Fold, with songs like “Beast and the Harlot”, “Afterlife” and “Nightmare.” Bringing on sounds of screaming verses and into growls of danger and ebbing with raw emotion in the lyrics and pounding of guitar and bass…this brought a welcome surprise to Rocksmith’s line up.
The Rush song pack just dropped two weeks ago and that was a welcome addition, hopefully of things and Bands to come. The rush song pack has songs such as “Tom Sawyer”, Red Berchetta”, “Limelight”, “Subdivisions”, and “YYZ” and then “Headlong Flight” which is not part of the pack.
Now recently, Rocksmith slapped some Funk into things. Releasing today’s awesome singles from Chic “Good Times”, Parliament “Give up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)”, and Rick James “Super Freak”.
Rocksmith of course has been doing a great job at getting new songs out to the fans, though with another guitar game from another company looming, Ubisoft may want to step up some of the releases to keep the crown.
