Sydney, November 14th, 2012 – LG Electronics Australia (LG), a global leader in consumer electronics, today announced the local availability of its new Smart TV game portal, Game World.
Anticipating a new era in downloadable 3D games, LG developed Game World exclusively for its CINEMA 3D Smart TV line-up. This user friendly portal is an interactive interface, easily searching and playing apps – in both 2D and 3D; using either LG’s Magic Remote or one of the compatible game controllers.*
LG’s Game World will host over 80 games, including ten 3D games from the recently announced 3D Games Apps including; Air Penguin, DownHill Bowling 2, Frisbee Forever, Burn the City, Gravity Racing, and the ever popular Plants vs Zombies.
“Game World is an excellent and easy to use source for games – especially 3D games – which are suitable for all the family,” said Brad Reed, Senior Marketing Manager – Content and Services.
“Game World will host some of the most popular gaming titles on LG CINEMA 3D Smart TVs. Game World will maximise our 3D TV capabilities to push the boundaries of 3D gaming and expand LG’s Smart TV offering in this market.”
A simplified user experience begins with the main menu, which displays a prominent menu bar listing four categories – Featured, Top Chart, New and Genre – for quick access to contents.
- The ‘Featured’ category highlights some of the hottest games available, including LG’s recommendations
- The most popular paid for as well as freeware games are showcased in the ‘Top Charts’ tab
- The ‘New’ link lists the most recent games available in Game World
- ‘Genre’ provides access to game titles in the following categories: action, adventure, arcade, puzzle, RPG, shooter, simulation, sports, and strategy.
Game World will feature family-friendly titles, with most titles being compatible with LG Magic Remote’s gestures and movement capabilities and many are also playable in 3D.
Game World has now launched in Australia on all 2012 LCD Smart TV’s and will be soon available on 2012 plasma TV models. LG customers with compatible TV models will be automatically prompted to upgrade their TV software when they turn on their TV and connect it to the internet.
