World of Tanks Takes Home Golden Joystick for Best MMO

29th October, 2012 — Wargaming is happy to announce that World of Tanks has won the industry’s prestigious Golden Joystick Award in the Best MMO category. The accolade demostates the popularity and respect Wargaming have earned with gamers around the world.

This year marks the second time World of Tanks has been nominated in the Best MMO category, and the prestigious award serves as recognition of the progress Wargaming and its project have made since last Fall.

World of Tanks has considerably enlarged its in-game fleet of armored vehicles and now offers more than 230 authentic war machines from the United States, Germany, the Soviet Union, France and Britain. The tank MMO action game enjoys an incredible following of 40 million players worldwide and recently set a new PCCU record in Russia with over 500,000 players simultaneously on one game server.

The awards ceremony for the 30th Annual Golden Joystick Awards presented by HMV was held at the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza in London, England on October 26, 2012, and celebrated creativity, technical and conceptual excellence of companies and their projects in 16 categories.
