Experience exciting, fun packed games on PlayStation®Vita and PlayStation™ Certified devices

 Sydney, 4 October 2012 – Sony Computer Entertainment Australia (SCE Aust.) is pleased to confirm that dedicated content for PlayStation®Mobile is now available in Australia, delivering brand new gaming experiences on open operating system-based devices and PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita) through PlayStation®Store (PS Store).  In the dramatically evolving smartphone and tablet market, this initiative will offer PlayStation-like content to a variety of PlayStation™ Certified mobile devices*. The service is now available in nine countries including Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Australia, with more to follow.

At the heart of PlayStation Mobile are the games which are now available and offer a range of portable gaming experiences that utilise the exceptional creativity of existing publishers combined with the new ideas from emerging development talent. There are a wide range of genres available including adventure, action, puzzle, and sports, created by third party developers and publishers as well as SCE Worldwide Studios.  All PlayStation Mobile games will support the on-screen virtual DUALSHOCK controller, ensuring a uniquely PlayStation experience across all of PlayStation™ certified mobile devices.

With games available on PlayStation Mobile, currently priced from AUD $0.90 to AUD $12.45, it is both an easily accessible and affordable way to enjoy PlayStation-like gaming experiences, and on multiple devices. Users will be able to buy a game once and play the same game on a combination of up to three PlayStation™ Certified devices and PS Vita.

Fun packed PlayStation Mobile games that are now available to download from the PS Store include:

Super Crate Box – It’s time to fight endless hordes of enemies and collect every weapon crate you can. Prepare for an arcade delight with tight controls, refreshing game mechanics, cracking retro art and a terribly hip chiptune soundtrack. Super Crate Box won numerous awards and is available to PSM now.

Twist Pilot – Twist Pilot is a fiendishly addictive puzzle action game. Guide the constantly rotating Phil through 72 action-packed levels, making sure not to touch the sides while avoiding the mischievous Spiders and their troublesome tricks and traps.

Rebel – Being a prisoner of war is no fun. But sometimes, just sometimes, your enemy is stupid enough to let you escape. Armed to the teeth with no weapons whatsoever, how will you evade your captors?

Fuel Tiracas – Planet Tiracas needs an atmosphere, but its air-producing power stations require a fine balance of precious minerals to kick-start their nuclear reactors. That’s where you come in!

With the aim of offering a more streamlined development environment for creating content for portable devices, the PlayStation Mobile Developer Program includes the official version of PlayStation Mobile SDK and will become available to the development community in November .This will be rolled-out in a phased manner starting with 11 countries and regions including Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.  The PlayStation Mobile Developer Program will allow developers to easily distribute their content globally through PS Store on a commercial basis and market their games to millions of dedicated gamers with PlayStation™ Certifed devices and PS Vita.
