New Bond film Skyfall first ever in IMAX

After half a century of 007, the latest James Bond film, Skyfall, will be the first to be converted to IMAX 15/70 film format. Skyfall opens at IMAX Melbourne Museum on 22 November, 2012.

The IMAX release of Skyfall will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customised theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

Daniel Craig is back as Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007 in Skyfall the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time.

In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her.  As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.  The film is from Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.  Directed by Sam Mendes.  Produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.  Written by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and John Logan.

Tickets to Skyfall: The IMAX Experience go on sale this Friday 5 October, at 12pm.
