UBISOFT RELEASES ROCKSMITH BASS EXPANSION DLC

Learn to Play Bass Guitar On Your Favorite Songs

SAN FRANCISCO – August 14, 2012 – Today, Ubisoft announced the release of Rocksmith Bass Expansion DLC, a content add-on for the innovative and award winning game Rocksmith. The bass DLC is available for $29.99 on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the Playstation® 3 computer entertainment system.

With the new Rocksmith Bass Expansion, players can learn to play bass lines of their favorite songs by plugging any bass guitar. Players can plug in any six-string guitar to emulate a four-string bass directly into an Xbox 360 console or PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. Bass arrangements have been added to the 53 original on-disc tracks and are available for all previously released DLC that feature bass parts, effectively doubling your music experience with Rocksmith. If you already purchased the downloadable content, bass versions are made available automatically. You’ll also gain access to all-new bass guitar features, including tutorials, bass pedals, amps, technique challenges and bass support for the Guitarcade games.

On October 16, 2012, the standard edition of the game, available for $79.99, will ship with the bass content included on the disc and the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable™. The Real Tone Cable is a unique 1/4” to USB cable that is the first of its kind, developed exclusively for Rocksmith. This revolutionary cable turns the instruments signal from analog to digital, allowing it to be recognized and played through video game consoles for the first time. The popular guitar bundle will also be available for $199.99 and includes an Epiphone Les Paul Junior guitar, along with the bass DLC and the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable. Both the standard edition and the guitar bundle will ship for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation® 3 computer entertainment system. The game will also be available on PC. Rocksmith is rated “T” for Teen.

Rocksmith is the first and only video game that allows players to plug in any real guitar into an Xbox 360® and PlayStation®3 to play a sizeable library of songs from the latest hits to classic rock songs. Rocksmith adapts to the player’s skill level from novices who have never picked up a guitar to the most experienced shredder. Players will be able to choose from actual lead, rhythm, and combo guitar compositions, inspiring players to perform songs after the game is turned off. Nothing compares to a real guitar.
