SQUARE ENIX ANNOUNCES MENSA ACADEMYTM NOW AVAILABLE

Stretch your Grey Matter today on Nintendo® Wii™, 3DS™, Windows PC

Sydney, Australia (August 2, 2012) Square Enix Ltd., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products and Barnstorm Games, today announce Mensa Academy, the ultimate brain training game, is now available at retailers in such areas as the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and PAL regions for Nintendo Wii and 3DS, and Windows PC platforms. It will be available in the near future for iOS devices, Xbox LIVE for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®Network from Sony and Android products.

Created in collaboration with Mensa, the renowned global high IQ society, Mensa Academy is chock-full of fun and stimulating mini-games and challenges. The questions featured throughout the game are directly inspired by those attempting to join Mensa.

“We are thrilled that consumers will now be able to play Mensa Academy, the most credible brain training game to date, to test and stretch their brainpower,” stated Roger Cheung, Head of Acquisitions, Square Enix Europe. “Whether they play on the beach on their 3DS, or at home on their PC or against their friends on the Wii, players will experience a clear improvement of their skills in an entertaining, accessible way.”

Mensa Academy offers players the ability to determine and improve their Mensa Academy score in Play, Coach and Test modes. Play mode challenges players to take on 100+ replayable levels in five disciplines— Numeracy, Language, Logic, Memory, and Visual, packed with stimulating questions. For further training, players can use Coach mode to hone their abilities and assess their progress in key areas before taking their skills to the next level in completing the Test, and discovering their Mensa Academy score; see how all that brain training has paid off! Nintendo Wii players can take on their friends in a multiplayer mode, to determine who the ultimate brainiac is.

“When setting out to create Mensa Academy we felt that it was important to provide the consumer with an experience that matched the quality of the Mensa brand.  We are delighted with the result and feel that we have a title that will appeal to a broad demographic and provide both a stimulating and positive gaming product,” stated Simon Jeffrey, CEO of Barnstorm Games.

“The Mensa Academy console game is a first for Mensa and we’re thrilled to see it launched today. The game will appeal to anyone who enjoys answering fun and stimulating questions. It can also be played with friends on the Wii, so in addition to training your brain you can challenge others to see who can achieve the highest Mensa Academy score,” stated John Stevenage, Chief Executive, British Mensa Ltd.

Mensa Academy is available for $39.95 for Nintendo Wii, $49.95 for 3DS and $19.95 for Windows PC. Mensa Academy is distributed in Australia and New Zealand via All Interactive Entertainment.
