Brighter than a 1000 suns: Supernova explodes in August 2012

The second add-on for Fishlabs Entertainment’s popular science fiction-saga Galaxy on Fire 2™ will be released simultaneously in SD, HD and Full HD on August 30th, 2012.

Hamburg, Germany – May 23nd, 2012 – Supernova™, the upcoming expansion pack for Fishlabs Entertainment’s mobile sci-fi benchmark Galaxy on Fire 2™, which was originally scheduled for the second quarter of 2012, will finally see the light of day on August 30th, 2012. The title will be released simultaneously for all Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac) in platform-optimized SD, HD and Full HD versions. Storywise, Supernova™ will kick in right where the first add-on Valkyrie™ left off. This time, however, the focus will be put on the Mido Confederation’s desperate struggle for survival against a devastating supernova and a mysterious squadron of stealth fighters. Supernova™ had first been introduced to the public at the GDC in San Francisco in early March 2012 and the playable beta-version will be shown to the international press at the E3 in Los Angeles on June 5th to 7th, 2012.

The new storyline of Galaxy on Fire 2™ – Supernova, which contains approximately 10 hours of adventurous outer space action, will not only introduce a number of new characters, such as the eccentric scientist Thadellonius Moonsprocket to the Galaxy on Fire™ universe, but also give the players access to dozens of new space ships, weapons systems and high-tech gadgets. And, of course, the players will also meet some of their most favourite characters again, such as Keith’s lovely girlfriend Carla or his old companion Mkkt Bkkt. The action of the new add-on centres around a gigantic supernova, which seems to be of unnatural origin and threatens to annihilate the whole Mido sector and its inhabitants.

Besides a number of new star systems and planets, Supernova™ also includes several new gameplay features, such as plasma resources, which can be harvested from gas clouds with the aid of special equipment, or locked containers, which contain valuable cargo but can only be opened if you hack your way into their security system first. Another addition are the new bounty hunter- and evacuation missions.

The afore-mentioned features, as well as many other interesting issues, will be discussed in detail in the official developer diaries, which will be posted on the Fishlabs-Blog every two weeks and fill the fans in on the different steps and stages of the development of Supernova™.
