Freddi Fish and the Stolen Shell Cracks The App Store This January

London, United Kingdom — January 12, 2012— Atari, one of the world’s most recognised publishers and producers of interactive entertainment, announced today that it is bringing FREDDI FISH®, one of the most popular franchises from its highly-decorated Humongous kids edutainment brand, to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch for the first-time ever this January with the release of Freddi Fish and the Stolen Shell. This kids gameis slated to swim into the App Store on January 12.

Freddi Fish and the Stolen Shell sets children on an engaging, underwater adventure with Freddi to catch the thief who stole the Great Conch Shell from Uncle Blenny. The Founder’s Day Festival cannot officially begin without Uncle Blenny’s Great Conch Shell.  To crack the case, children uncover clues while exploring ancient ruins, playing games at a fun-filled carnival, and discovering a sunken airplane. Along the journey, kids will meet and interact with Freddi’s fun sea pals; Luther the fish, Rosy Pearl, Nadine the Narwhal and others. To solve this captivating underwater caper, kids will need to overcome various challenges by using important, fundamental skills that are a hallmark of Humongous branded titles: critical thinking, problem solving and memory.

Freddi Fish and the Stolen Shell key features include:

  • Strong replay ability – new clues, new locations and even new culprits await each time your child plays.
  • Interactive touchscreen with hundreds of hidden surprises to be revealed.
  • Immersive worlds filled with faithful, lovable friends that help them with various challenges.
  • Fun-filled extras including the ability to create a song on the underwater organ.
  • Apple’s GameCenter integration with exclusive in-game achievements.

Freddi Fish and the Stolen Shell follows on the heels of Atari’s initial Humongous mobile title, Putt Putt Saves the Zoo.  Released in November 2011, Putt Putt Saves the Zoo for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad quickly rose to a Top 10 Educational Game in the App Store within its first two weeks of release.

“The Humongous brand represents one of the most successful kids interactive entertainment brands. We’re pleased to use the mobile platform to introduce a new generation of kids to the characters, stories and gameplay that made Humongous the true gold seal in the category,” said Maria Pacheco, Vice President, Mobile Marketing of Atari. “The engaging experience we’ve created perfectly translates all the lovable elements of the franchise in a way that we believe will excite kids and be embraced by parents who grew up with these games.”
