ASUS, Intel announce collaboration and join forces with Jason Mraz ‘In Search of Incredible’

27 September 2011, Sydney – The ASUS new N Series notebook, the result of a collaboration between ASUS and Intel Corporation, will be launched worldwide on 29th September 2011. To support the launch, Intel and ASUS have joined forces with a leading team of creative artists including Grammy Award-winning musician Jason Mraz, film director Andy Morahan and photographer Don McCullin, to create a global competition, calling on entrants from 16 countries to submit their ideas of “the incredible.”

The inspiration for entries could take many forms: a sight, a sound, a moment or even a creation.  Participants are being asked to upload a description of what they find incredible along with any supporting imagery or multimedia content.  Mraz, a multi-platinum singer-songwriter, will be part of a panel of judges that will adjudicate entries.

The overall winner will have the chance to realise his or her interpretation of what “incredible” is and co-create a film with Mraz to be showcased during one of the world’s leading international film festivals at Park City, Utah in January. The film will also be simultaneously screened live on Bing. The winner will have the assistance of a professional film crew.

Mraz’s role in the campaign will mirror his own quest for the incredible, which will take him all over the globe from Mulholland Drive to Morocco, while he records his upcoming album. Part of Mraz’s journey will be filmed for a series of webisodes for the campaign, which are being directed by critically acclaimed director, Asif Kapadia. The webisodes will see Jason share his own vision of the incredible. This will include a visit to the Integratron in California’s Mojave Desert, a domed structure built in the 1950s and funded by Howard Hughes that is believed to offer the perfect acoustics for sound. Another of the webisodes will feature Mraz and long-time friend Jesse Billauer as they both enjoy the surf in Morocco. Billauer suffered a debilitating accident, but still remains an active surfing fanatic.
