Award-winning actress Kyra Sedgwick continues her Emmy® and Golden Globe-winning
role as the hard-hitting Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the sixth season of the
critically acclaimed series The Closer, to be released on DVD November 2. The release
will feature all 15 Season Six episodes plus an all-new featurette, never-before-seen
footage and more.

In The Closer, multi-award winner Sedgwick brings depth and intensity to her portrayal
of Deputy Chief Johnson, a former Atlanta detective brought to Los Angeles to head the
Major Crimes Division, a special unit of the LAPD that cracks sensitive, high-profile cases.
A top-notch investigator, Brenda is an expert at digging into a person’s secrets and
obtaining confessions, despite constantly struggling with her own imperfections and
neuroses.

She’s a great liar — as are the killers she questions — and she will not quit
until she uncovers the truth. Yet despite her brilliance as an interrogator, drawing
confessions from even the most tangled of lies, she is frustrated by LAPD politics. Her
team has come to embrace her unconventional style and she runs a tight ship based on
mutual trust and respect, but she still faces antagonistic roadblocks from other
departments and outside sources looking to crack her tough exterior.

The series also
stars J.K. Simmons (Juno), Corey Reynolds (The Terminal), Robert Gossett (Arlington
Road), G.W. Bailey (Police Academy), Tony Denison (Prison Break), Michael Paul Chan
(Arrested Development), Raymond Cruz (Training Day), Phillip P. Keene (Home) and Jon
Tenney (The Division).

In the sixth season of The Closer, The LAPD is looking for a new chief and Assistant Police
Chief Will Pope (Simmons), thinks he has the inside track. He soon has an unexpected
rival for the job: Brenda. And Brenda has an unexpected ally helping groom her for the
selection process: Captain Sharon Raydor (recurring guest star Mary McDonnell,
Battlestar Galactica). The contest for chief is only one of the ingenious, suspenseful,
often funny storylines that makes the sixth season of The Closer stellar entertainment.
Join the squad as Sanchez (Cruz) looks after an orphaned boy. Tao (Chan), goes
undercover as a biker. Provenza (Bailey) and Flynn (Denison) date airline attendants,
one of whom finds a corpse in her bathtub. And Brenda finds her family Christmas
rudely interrupted by crime.

“Kyra Sedgwick is consistently brilliant in her role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson.
She’s a gifted actress who keeps us constantly engaged with her powerful performances
and her unique ability to bring to life a character that’s unlike any other on television
today,” said Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV and Special Interest Marketing.
She added, “The sixth season of The Closer is just as fresh and exciting as the first. We
remain captivated by the show’s compelling plots, delightful characters and superb
acting performances. Each new season gets better than the last, and we are excited to
bring the latest instalment to DVD.”
