Strong ‘Projections’ for future growth for BenQ Asia Pacific

Sydney, Australia, September 2011:  BenQ, a brand internationally renowned as a provider of digital lifestyle innovations, is now the No. 1 projector brand in India and Indonesia, and is ranked second in the Asia Pacific region overall, according to FutureSource Consulting’s Q2 2011 report.

In India, BenQ clinched the top spot as the No.1 projector brand with over 20% market share, and 26.5% QoQ growth rate in the second quarter of 2011.  In Indonesia, another fast growing market, BenQ has held the No.1 position now for four consecutive years.

FutureSource Consulting’s report showed that BenQ maintained second in the Asia Pacific regions with 12.6% of market share.  BenQ reached a top two position with a steady performance in the education segment with 21% market share and took out the No.1 position in the 3D segment.

“These achievements put BenQ forward as one of the most respected brands in the projector industry,” said Chee F. Chung, BenQ’s general manager for Australia.

“India is a very promising market, showing a 33% YoY growth rate in its total available market in Q2,” she continued.  “Indonesia is also a key emerging market in the Asia Pacific region.  Other global regions showing strong growth for our brand in the projector category include the Middle East and Africa regions,” she said.

BenQ’s success in Q2 was shared around the world with over 11% of market share globally.  In Japan, BenQ was the only non-Japanese brand ranked in the top 3 with more than 10% share of the market.  BenQ was also placed within the top three projector brands in 38 countries, including China, Japan, Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Germany, Italy, Russia, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

“Driving further success in the year ahead, BenQ will be unveiling new projector models, offering power-saving solutions, optimised brightness and network control features,” said Chung.
