Yahoo!7 helps Australian families take control of their finances

Yahoo!7 launches comparison website Moneyhound

Sydney, Australia, September 7, 2011 – Yahoo!7 today announced the launch of Moneyhound, a free online comparison website that helps Australians take control of their finances and save money on their monthly bills.

Moneyhound compares over 2,400 products across personal finance and telco and internet products, and offers greater breadth across more categories than any other comparison site in Australia. Moneyhound includes everyday products like savings accounts, personal loans, credit cards, mobile phone plans, broadband plans and, shortly after launch, will expand to utilities comparison including gas and electricity.

By using Moneyhound, an Australian family could potentially save a massive $11,670 a year.*

A recent poll conducted by Yahoo!7 found that 81 percent of respondents ‘spend a lot of time worrying about their finances’. Moneyhound can help alleviate the worry and stress associated with managing finances by giving users more ownership and empowerment over their money and monthly bills.

Dan Stinton, Head of Audience, Marketplaces for Yahoo!7, said “Australians are looking for ways to save money online and we want to help the eight million monthly visitors to Yahoo!7 do this even better. We know from our research that many Australians find it hard to find the time to compare products even though they realise they could probably save money on their monthly bills. Moneyhound is a safe and trusted environment where users can easily browse products from known providers to find the best deals on the market.”

“At Yahoo!7 we are always looking for new ways to bring the most entertaining and useful content to our audience. I’m delighted we now offer Moneyhound which is part of Yahoo!7 Finance, Australia’s number one finance destination, to help Australians  save money online.”
