GAME Australia is on a mission to collect the world’s most famous hedgehog’s catalogue of games
Thursday 25th August 2011– SEGA® Australia Pty Ltd and GAME Australia Pty Ltd are excited to reveal details for The Amazing Sonic Quest. In celebration of Sonic’s 20th Anniversary year and the upcoming release of Sonic Generations™ launching in November 2011, SEGA Australia and GAME Australia have partnered together to launch The Amazing Sonic Quest which challenges fans to participate in the ultimate Sonic hunt with the final collection of games to be auctioned off for charity.
In order to take part in the quest, Sonic fans and gamers alike need to delve into their archives of gaming nostalgia to unearth any one of the fourty five classic Sonic games which are listed on the GAME website http://www.game.com.au/sonicchecklist2. Participants are required to donate their treasured Sonic game to GAME employee and funny man ‘ED’ for review. In return, participants will receive a $50 GAME voucher redeemable at any GAME store Australia wide as well as a retail copy of Sonic Generations™ on a platform of their choice when it launches in November.
The Amazing Sonic Quest will run over fourteen consecutive weeks and is already in the third week running. The latest episode features NRL superstar Jarryd Hayne AKA ‘The Hayne Plane’, who admits to being a huge Sonic fan. All episodes can be viewed here http://www.gametv.com.au . Once all fourty five Sonic games have been found, GAME will hold an auction open to the public with proceeds to be donated to Variety PTY LTD.
